The water was raging from all the floods in the area. What looks like a grainy finish is actually mist from the water pounding on the rocks.

Looking for fairly local sites, I found this little gem. There's hiking trials as well as a playground. Looks like it will be a great spot for an autumn revisit.

I couldn't find much background on the Dam. What I did find was it seems to be a hot spot for local fisherman.

Early morning finds the Russell based local H705 returning east past the still-standing tower at NJ Cabin.

These were the handsome fellas Kelley and I photographed while Entertainment Tonight filmed us. Another amazing image is on Kelley's stream. Really pushing the camera since the light was so low. ISO 1000, F 1.4 @ 1/250. Thank goodness for higher end cameras!

CSX 5341 leads Clinchfield bound Q696 past NJ Cabin near South Shore, KY. NJ Cabin is the dividing point for the Cincinnati Subdivision and Northern Subdivision. It was once a major junction on the old C&O, seeing all major traffic, and two passenger trains from its major terminals through here. The shell of NJ Cabin still exists, but the area has been thoroughly modernized by CSX.
