Hard to imagine that it was a month ago when I caught these shots and I don't think that we have had a similar morning since, though it's entirely possible that I might have still been in bed and missed one - lol.
This is the smaller lake (Kingfisher Lake they now call it) at Harrold-Odell Country Park.
3shot hdr with the camera propped on a fence post.

“Why does the eye see a thing more clearly in dreams than the imagination when awake?”
by Leonardo da Vinci
Picture was taken on a golf field near Harrison Hot Springs in British Columbia, Canada.
Mt. Hood greets a new dawn as darkness is dispelled and early morning mist clings to the mirror-like surface of Trillium Lake.

The mornings lately have been filled with the misty remains of evening showers and the certainty of the day's heat to come. The offical start to spring is only a few days away, but the last two weeks of record high temperatures -- in the 80sF!! -- make the Vernal Equinox feel like the start of SUMMER!
I was tremendously inspired by a photo I saw by Andrew (www.flickr.com/photos/100200300400500/6810561554 as it so reminded me of a color version of the mist and fog I've witnessed over the last few mornings. My thanks to Andrew for allowing me to use his glorious photograph as a reference. and more -- for the inspiration it provided for this painting. Please drop by Andrews's flickr to see some glorious captures! Thank you once more, Andrew!
It was a busy weekend with lunch with the grandchildren, my husband's jam group filling the airwaves with wonderful sounds, taking in a concert and ignoring, yet again, those pesky weeds and gardening chores that are beginning to gnaw at my conscious. I spent a bit of time painting and simply enjoying the walks around the park inhaling the awesome fragrance of tea olive, marveling at the the scarlet reds of the budding maples, the innocent whites of the Bradford pears, the magenta tones of the saucer magnolas, the pinks of peach blossoms, the pale greens of the elms, and the yellows of the hickories.
Dandelions, chickweed, henbit and bitter cress?
If I step a little livelier -- I can walk right past them! LOL
Have a great week!
A sunrise view of Mt. Bromo with mist enveloping the foot of the volcano.
Mount Bromo, is an active volcano and part of the Tengger massif, in East Java, Indonesia. At 2,329 metres, it is not the highest peak of the massif, but is the most well known. The massif area is one of the most visited tourist attractions in East Java, Indonesia. The volcano belongs to the Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park. The name of Bromo derived from Javanese pronunciation of Brahma, the Hindu creator god.
Tonight's sunset was rather boring, so I felt like staying out later than normal to experiment. My 4-5 last shots were the most intense because I prefer to shoot @ 12mm. Keeping the mist off my lens was the biggest challenge.

Mist against sun - that was the subject for an hour today on 3 Advent at noon. Mist and gloom were winning. Or implemented on the Advent: "The Cold let us imagine the light through the gray"

Threave Castle in the very early morning mist, with the weather being so bad outside a dive into the archives going back to my trip to Threave in June this year. A shot for some reason i hadn't looked at properly, i think it works.
