Beware of prejudice; light is good in whatsoever lamp it is burning. A rose is beautiful in whatsoever garden it may bloom. A star has the same radiance if it shines from the east or the west.
All the prophets of God have come to unite the children of men and not to disperse them; to put in action the law of love and not enmity.
We must banish prejudice. Religious, patriotic, racial prejudices must disappear, for they are the destroyers of human society.
We must become the cause of the unity of the human race.

Last minute shoot before I go to bed. Hi to all my flickr friends!
I used my nursing pen light. The pen light is used for assessments.
I'm not sure this qualifies as a light fixture, but I'm having so much trouble with the list this round that I'm using it anyway. I saw it at my local home and garden store. The glass container comes with a short string of white Christmas lights inside.

Light reflected off the Gherkin windows to the ground below created a very interesting series of shapes..

After moving into a new apartment, we were pleasantly surprised by the light show provided by the sun reflecting these amazing shapes onto our ceiling.
Part of a mini-study on these shapes
Light is the photographic medium par excellence; it is to the photographer what words are to the writer; color and paint to the painter; wood, metal, stone, or clay to the sculptor. - Andreas Feininger
We sleep and awake every day with a light of hope ..
That today will be a better day ..

On hopes we live, wishing them to come true …

Last image for my 17weeks-project. It was a nice little experiment and it made me happy to see all your contributions. It totally pushed myself to come up with a concept every single week. Happy I did this.
View across Lake Geneva from Montreux, Switzerland. This image and "Shades of Yellow" are of the same view, taken from different times of the day to show how the light differed.
This shot has been tweaked specifically to bring out the light rays and make it a more punchy as a black and white image as the original image was a little flat.
beautiful sunset light, some fabulous clouds, a still lake, some nice silhouettes and reflections made for some fun photo ops last month in Lily Lake...i set this to expose a little darker to enhance the marvelous play of light and shadows in the clouds and on the water surface...hope it works...pls. An abstract experiment where I created a light "pen" out of batteries, an LED and some aluminium, and swung it as a pendulum above some 8x10" photo paper. Here I tried to create a regular spiral pattern of motion, and put a sheet of refractive plastic in a hexagon pattern above the paper. I liked the idea of using light to record the motion of an object, and using alternative processes to make the shapes.
