Inside and out.....go on once you start to see your beautiful bits it snowballs 😁....I'm not talking physically - though my Nanna used to say the more beautiful you are inside the more your beauty shows in your face....I've always struggled with people's perceptions that I'm too nice - innately I couldn't be any other way....yes I've had to learn there's a difference between good and nice, good; fair, just, truthful, vulnerable, compassionate to oneself as well as others, coming from a place of love ♥

The snow today made me feel beautiful inside, it gave me a childlike awe after so much sadness, a lightness as well as a heaviness of soaking clothes, wet feet and numb extremities - a freedom of me-ness ♥

I hadn't been able to listen to familiar songs over christmas - I did find one new one but as I ran the bath to thaw out a bit I really listened to the words of one christmas piece that's accompanied all my Christmas's since I was 16....a song that I so wanted to be for me - so today I sang it to myself. It doesn't matter if people think I'm too nice or a complete bit*h, I'm beginning to let myself whatever myself may be.

This is growing in the hoop house.

For the group #FlickrFriday, theme #LifeIsLikeABoxOfChocolates

Well I was a little more inspired this week after the jet lag started to wear off.

I came up with the idea fairly quickly, though finding the right box of chocolates was a little harder, with the first purchase not providing enough slots for the scrabble pieces. So we now have a little more chocolate than intended, but the family are not complaining.

Where I do most of my work there are a series of glass doors that defines the center of activity in my home. I don't have to wait long before something odd or interesting happens either inside or outside those doors. The thing is, I never know what it will be but I know I should always be ready for it. Sometimes it's just a pile of vomit but sometimes it's better.

Bean is a very affectionate dog and is a leaner, he is happiest when he is pressed right up against you. Marina, who was on the phone, didn't want Bean leaning on her and getting hair on her socks. So, she kept moving away and Bean...yep, kept inching closer. Finally Marina picked up her foot and gave him a gentle slide across the floor. You can see he is already trying to figure his way around this dilemma.

My submission for the Flickr Friday theme #lifeislikeaboxofchocolates. Took me forever to shoot this! I haven't learned how to capture things in motion yet so this was really difficult for me! But I loved the challenge non the less! ^^

My first idea for this theme was the feather since "life is like a box of chocolate" to me is a reference to Forrest Gump. But then I saw someone else already submitted the ultimate feather picture, not worth to compete with, so I decided to do it a little different and add Curious George to the shot! I was really lucky the library has one available! ^^

Curious George is an interesting character that fits the theme well not only because he's Forrest's favorite book but also because his curiosity always leads him to new places, new situations and new people :) The feather I found this morning when walking around chatting with my sister on the phone, talk about lucky! :)

I hope you like it!

I was out in our little orchard that is near the road and my neighbours met on the road. We had a nice chat then everyone went on their way.

After a 80+ pictures in explore I suddenly seem to have a series of pictures that even show up on Explore Frontpage. I really like it as joining Flickr I wanted my picture to be seen. I joined several groups to post them too, I tagged and geo-tagged them. I found wonderful contacts (more than I'm able to visit every day) and learned a lot more than I ever expected. Thank you all for that.

Reading about Explore and its frontpage on flickr central and other places I found some very controversial discussions about the "Explore Game". Thoughts on making Explore at ...-Wink's Place-... provided me with a quote from Wink that seems to express my way of thinking quite good:

"I've always tried to reciprocate comments and fav photo's even before I knew about Explore and I'm not going to change the way I am because some folks think it's gaming the system just because my way coincides with the algorithm."

That said: This picture will not make it to the frontpage as I don't want to add a border on the sides to make it appear like a square format (as portrait formats don't show up on frontpage)

Day 5 and 6 of our vacation trip

Savannah, GA

Independent Presbyterian Church

Closely modeled after his own designs for the First Congregational Church of Providence, Rhode Island, architect John Holden Green designed the original building on the present site.

Present at the dedication of this building on Sunday, May 9, 1829 was John C. Calhoun, President James Monroe, and members of his cabinet. Reporting on this occasion, The Columbian Museum and Savannah Daily Gazette wrote that "from grandeur of design and neatness of execution, we presume this church is not surpassed by any in the United States."

The magnificent edifice of 1819 was destroyed by the great fire of 1889. It was decided to reconstruct the sanctuary exactly as it had been. Hope you enjoy the view.

If you got time, join me on a short walk through Savannah.

Like Forrest Gump said "Life was like a box of chocolates. You never know what you're gonna get.”. You will always have unexpected even when you make your plan or work hard to get the result.

I did not have great expectation when I go to Garry Point for a sunset picture. I do not see the mood I want and could not find a good piece of rock or driftwood for the composition.

Accidentally I even under-expose the scene by one stop. It happens that my ND filter gets some colours for me.

I shall see it this way. If picture taking becomes a tool for you to experience and feel the unexpected in your life, it does not matter anymore whether you get a perfect shot or even a shot that satisfies you.

Have a good Monday!

Prompt: Life is like a box of chocolates.

Hence my favorite line from Forrest Gump.

"Me and Jenny goes together like peas and carrots."

Life.....you never know what you will get....:)

Where is this man heading? With a smirk on his face he rides his scooter through the dense Amsterdam traffic like a youngster. Smartly dressed, in a hurry. To meet a friend? I see hope, love and comfort in his face. He is living the life. Made me stop for a moment and reflect...

Esta fotografía representa mi aportación a "flickrfriday".

Referido al título de la participación de esta semana esta toma pretende realizar una metáfora en cuanto a la capacidad de elegir, ya sea un chocolate, la apariencia...

Blaydon Race 2017.

The Blaydon Race is a 5.7 mile road race from Newcastle upon Tyne to Blaydon, in England, that is steeped in local tradition. It takes place on June 9th every year starting on Collingwood Street in Newcastle, heading west along Scotswood Road and finishing in Blaydon.

One of my images taken for my 52 week project that didn't quite cut it for me so didn't make the final entry for the week.

Life is like a box of chocolates.

The industrial revolution made once the popular hot-chocolate drink in Europe to a fine dish for everyone. Before that not everyone could afford chocolate but the people found many ways to make their lives more special and learned to treasure what life gave to anyone and only if it was just a little girl's beloved kittens.

Found this brand new dish towel at an estate sale! Such a good mantra! :)

New post over on my blog explaining how this happened!

Sometimes, life is NOT like a box of chocolates.

#LifeIsLikeABoxOfChocolates, lots of choices in a seemingly ordered world.

My main Camera is out for servicing... so limited options this weekend, step in my trusty Nokia Lumia 920.

... but let's be serious for a while here. When it's 40°C outside, the only chocolate you'll get will be in ice cream form :D

My interpretation, starring Johnny Greenpants.

The central character of the Oscar-winning film Forrest Gump made an investment in Apple in the 1970s. It is estimated that the stock would be worth under 7bn today.

So for this weeks #FlickrFriday theme #LifeIsLikeABoxOfChocolates I decided to interpret the scene and this is my image. This was a great theme this week, giving me many ideas to explore.

Yesterday when I looked at the balcony, I saw that caterpillars ate my kohlrabi plants. For them, life must be like a box of chocolates. And for me too, because I was very surprised. Today you can see the result of there big appetite :-)
