I wish that

I could know

All that on which

You did glow.

Lives and laughter

Turns of fate,

Child of fortunate

Luck too late.

The faces change

But the stories remain.

How soon the shadows

Pass again….

I am having an angle problem here... I wanted to straighten the lamppost, but the vertical lines of the buildings are a little too tilted... Does the image look too unnatural?

“You have to begin to lose your memory, if only in bits and pieces, to realize that memory is what makes our lives. Life without memory is no life at all, just as an intelligence without the possibility of expression is not really an intelligence. Our memory is our coherence, our reason, our feeling, even our action. Without it, we are nothing.”

This is Nottingham Terrace just north of Buffalo's Historic Delaware Park.

This is a little different then my normal work. I am going through my cell phone photos and editing some up. This was was taken early and it was dark. I liked the composition and lighting. After working it a bit I ended up with something a little painterly... Kind of like it...

I can't help noticing the quirky character of lampposts, and especially the older ones around Toronto. Unfortunately, many of them have already been replaced by much less aesthethically interesting cement versions.
