Colorful Lobster Mutiara ready to be cooked in a seafront restaurant in Kota Kinabalu (Borneo)

The species is Panulirus ornatus (also called Mutiara, Ornate Rock Lobster or Ornate Spiny Lobster). Unlike true lobsters, rock lobsters don't have claws.

For more information about this species, read en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spiny_lobster

I would be ashamed to eat such a beautiful creature... even though they taste so good!

Our plane made its way further north over KK city, before Likas area comes into view from the plane. I noticed I got a clear view of a big construction site going on opposite Likas Square.

It is apparently Pacific City, a integrated development consisting of a mall, residential towers and etc. Works have actually been in a standstill for years, but the sight of two new cranes there shows signs that construction works have resumed. In front of Wisma Perindustrian, Bay 21 Condo is seen rising. The Tun Fuad Stephen Road can be seen on the left.

The building on the right is Hyatt Regency. If you have the luxury to stay in one of these hotels, you can stay in the comfort of your room to view the magnificent sunset. However, I still prefer the outdoor feel :-p

I'm a bit lazy to write, so here are some of the street life in Filipino Market. Do noted that, there are approx 40% people are homeless in Sabah. What i'm trying to portray in my pictures are the life of unfortunate people or those peoples who lives wandering around the Filipino Market. They don't have the normal 9 to 5 office job. They sells plastics bag, cigarettes, or anything that can earn money.

Local kids playing, exploring & runs freely in the opening as the elders enjoyed their time fishing. This little girl came into my view a few times in purpose after spotting me there. She seems happy and fascinated to be captured on "screen" later that..

A shot of a woman operating a stall in Filipino Market.

Nothing dramatic about this shot, just wanna show you part of the KK Esplanade, where boats dock up after working whole day at sea, stalls are set up along the walk ways selling foods and drinks to the visitors.

KK Esplanade is just next to the Market (the building on the left).

Towards the evening, the sun turns a little scorching. Everyone tends to go under the shade. Local hawkers (mostly malays) started opening stalls nearby the Filipino Market for KK's pasar malam.
