National BJP Leader and Kisan Morcha National Secretary Sukhminderpal Singh Grewal said that 'LOHA CAMPAIGN' for farmers cultivation used Iron collection drive from December 15 in country. He said today reports are that BJP workers from Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, West Bengal and Sikkim to collect agricultural iron implements for the construction of 700-tonne statue of Our proud independent India's first home minister Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel, for which a Rs 2,500-crore project has been prepared by the Gujarat Government. He told that our Senior BJP Leader Purushottam Rupala MP from Gujarat who led the team of Gujarat ministers, MP's and MLA's recalled that Sardar Patel contributed to the renovation of Somnath temple and said he would have got the Ram temple constructed at Ayodhya had be been the PM. Grewal told that in the construction of the world's tallest statue, all mukhiyas and sarpanches in the country would be associated. More than 2.5 lakh elected representatives in rural areas would be felicitated by the Gujarat government in the last week of February next year. He again stated that Collection of iron pieces would simultaneously start on December 15, the death anniversary of Sardar Patel, in all villages across all over the country. Grewal said that two principal secretary Rank officers - Sh. J N Singh and Sh. K Srinivas, who are associated with the project, have written to the chief secretaries of all the states seeking their support for the campaign and permission for holding 'Run for Unity' in different parts of the country on December 15. He said that the Deputy secretary Rank officer's of Gujarat Government are appointed nodal officers for different states. He said that all have visited several cities to coordinate with the local officials. Grewal said that the whole country has been divided into 8 zones for the project. He said that Gujarat ministers are visiting all the states to complete the LOHA CAMPAIGN by January 26. Grewal stated that BJP MP and former Union minister Hukumdeo Narayan Yadav has been made convener of the LOHA CAMPAIGN for five states. He said that our BJP Party's National vice-president Dr C P Thakur said iron pieces should be collected from the urban areas. Grewal stated that a group of young professionals having degrees in management, law and engineering from reputed institutions have been associated themselves with the statue project.

Given that the term itself is simplistic, it should be understood that there at least three significant aspects of Big Data that make it unique, beyond "an order of magnitude more data than what you have now", which was one early definition.

  

Instead, Big Data refers to the integrated employment of the following capabilities:

    

Fast Data. Recognizing that traditional methods for moving, processing, and querying data were not sufficient, the Big Data industry has created an entirely new set of techniques -- and adapting some of those that existed -- so that organizations can actually process the full universe of information that they possess in enough time to actually get inside the windows of key business processes and critical decision trees. Thus, Fast Data techniques provides the ability to 'see' all (or enough, anyway) of what you know in a short enough time to actually do something with what you've learned. Fast Data techniques, at least so far, have grown exponentially faster at approximately the rate of Moore' Law, just barely keeping up with Big Data growth volume in my research.

  

Big Analytics. This is where the qualitative differences between traditional business databases and Big Data become more apparent. Where Fast Data is about new techniques to process and transform raw information considerably faster than ever before, Big Analytics is about turning information into knowledge using a combination of existing and new approaches. As you can see from the moving parts visual above, some of the classic players in analytics are in use here including MATLAB, SAS, and R. But some of the most interesting aspects of Big Data can be found in relatively new entrants such as Apache Hive and Mahout, the latter which brings to bear automated machine learning to finding hidden trends and otherwise unthought of or unconsidered ideas. In fact, an entire industry is growing up in smart information management systems that will "not rely on users dreaming up smart questions to ask computers; rather, they will automatically determine if new observations reveal something of sufficient interest to warrant some reaction, e.g., sending an automatic notification to a user or a system about an opportunity or risk."

  

Deep Insight. The powerful yet unfocused tools of Big Analytics are not sufficient to reap the rewards of Big Data. That requires taking the sum of the information at hand, applying analytic processes to it, and finally generating new knowledge and insights using a a specific, situated method. Insight must be in the domain of the business to be useful, and this part of Big Data is where the technology is connected to ground truth in a feedback loop. That is, the tools of Big Analytics are just tools by themselves. It's not until they are directed at deriving a particular type of result that they are actually useful in a business context. Insights must also be connected to specific objectives (examples depicted in the moving parts visual above) in order to have high levels of impact.

While it’s certainly true that the tools and platforms that enable online communities have not only greatly improved in the last several years but are now readily accessible by any business today, large or small, the real change that’s driving the adoption of online communities appears to be 1) that a significant and growing percentage of the online world now expects to be able to engage with a company online using social tools, and 2) organizations are increasingly understanding that there are tangible benefits to social computing and that it’s not just an overhead cost.

 

In other words, it’s the overall change in expectations regarding how organizations should interact with people (workers, customers, and otherwise) in general is what’s really new here. Social computing is a new “fabric” that we are starting use to bind ourselves together more dynamically and effectively in the workplace and elsewhere.

After a half-a-decade of experience in scale, we can see the broad outlines of both external social business adoption as well as Enterprise 2.0 adoption. There are four distinct stages that are quite different based on the state of maturity and overall rate of social business adoption in the organization. In other words, as much as we might like it, there is no “one size fits all” approach to it. Fortunately, we can organize around these different stages, which fall roughly into the four phases listed below. Specifically, these are:

 

Phases of Social Business Adoption

 

Early adoption This is the most nascent and delicate state, where there is perhaps only a seed of community and there is no network effect yet or core membership that can help with the essential work of social business building. The goal is to validate the direction, tools, and social business design. This is often called the pilot phase.

 

Critical mass adoption This is transforming a successful early adoption phase into broader uptake that is self-sustaining. I’ve previously observed that this critical mass is around 20% of workers, but has been verified as even less.

 

Mainstream adoption There is usually a long pause between the first two waves of adoption and late adoption. Early adopters are often very early and the remainder are often represented by those who have challenges in engaging in a different way, for a variety of reasons. Specific steps must be taken to address these adoption issues.

 

Sustainable adoption A successful social businesses contains communities of people, their business activities, and supporting tools. They will largely self-organize and grow on their own once you’re well into the critical mass phase and beyond. However, these communities can also decline over time without appropriate care and nurturing. Employees move on, customers decide to leave, your company changes direction. All of these affect the long term health of your communities, and so specific adoption strategies are required for as long as you have a thriving social business environment.

One only need look at what's on the mind of CIOs these days (60% believe they should be directly driving growth and productivity) versus what they're well known for delivering on. Or perhaps more problematically, what their IT organizations are able to deliver on. Never in my two decades of experience in the IT world have I seen such a disparity between where the world is heading as a whole and the technology approach that many companies are using to run their businesses.

  

The issues are legion: There are at least five major "generational scale" changes to the computing landscape happening at about the same time: Delivery platforms are shifting (mobility, cloud, social), communication and collaboration channels are being reinvented (Web, mobile, social), the consumer world of technology is driving innovation, and data is opening up and exploding out of the proliferating apps, devices, and sensors that organizations are deploying or are connecting to (but alas, are often not engaging with.) And as you might expect, much or most of these topics are in back burner mode in many companies just now seeing the glimmerings of recovery from the downturn.

 

Moreover, workers are now demanding many of these innovations and expecting their organizations to provide something close in capability to what they can get nearly for free (or actually for free) on their own devices and networks. Managers and executives, albeit mostly on the business side, are typically pushing for 1) service delivery on next-generation mobile devices like the iPad, 2) much easier to use IT solutions, and 3) access to better, more collaborative and useful intranet capabilities.

IT leaders often tell me they feel "surrounded" by social today. Typically, the sales team is pushing for Salesforce, the organization usually already has SharePoint (with those pushing for its social features), other internal camps are often pushing for IBM Connections, Jive, and other popular platforms. Open source social tools are popular as well, though largely departmental. And these are just the internal solutions, not the inevitable parade of vertical and/or external solutions aimed at marketing, analytics, CRM, crowdsourced production development, and more. There usually is plenty of experimentation with all of these that is further driving the growing trend towards departmental-led deployment. It is into this chaotic environment that IT is often brought in at the 11th hour to sort out the proliferation of social, to deal with its many downstream implications. But not to lead it.

 

CIOs themselves are perhaps to most blame for lack of leadership here. As I point out frequently these days, last year's Deloitte CIO survey found that 60% of top IT leaders believe that they should be driving growth and productivity for the business. Yet only 1 in 10 are willing to make the changes necessary to adapt to today's rapidly evolving business landscape. This is a surprising gap between desire and action that is ultimately untenable in today's lightspeed world of technology development. This inaction is pushing adoption of powerful and transformative new technology directly into the hands of other areas of our organizations.

 

A powerful new piece by Paul Gillin observes that IT doesn't even make an appearance when organizations are asked about who has primary responsibility for social business. Instead, marketing is listed first. This is something I've seen as a strong trend in the last year, something I've referred to as the rise of the CIO of marketing.

 

Engagement functions and technologies begin to blur

 

The lesson: Increasingly mature people-oriented networked technologies that connect us together across all boundaries and constituencies have become so pervasive and embedded and yes, social, that the groups in our organizations most responsible for external engagement and communication (marketing, corporate communications, customer care) are beginning to take the technology lead. In other words, the CMO's purview is overlapping with the CIO, particularly with social business. At the same time, the rest of the organization isn't waiting either.

 

The near future therefore appears quite different for IT than it does today for many organizations. Adoption of new business capabilities will mostly be a bring-your-own-technology (BYOT) discussion, meaning that shadow IT will probably be the primary way tech is adopted within the next three years or so. (See Gartner's data and my recent analysis of this.) The data show that departments, projects, and individual users will soon be the primary method of new technology adoption. If this continues, IT will largely be charge of security, infrastructure, and governance and not leading the business towards its digital future.

 

The lost opportunity for IT--because of its traditional deep experience in providing, supporting, and managing technology enablement company-wide--is ultimately considerable and could lead to permanent decline. For some IT organizations, the outcome will be dire: CFOs are already beginning to push for infrastructure to be moved out to the cloud, app stores are disintermediating the acquisition of IT solutions, and externally delivered mobile apps and SaaS will soon become the primary form of business software. CIOs that are really chief infrastructure officers will become more and more marginalized as the business helps itself to a rich new future. CIOs that successfully become what many think they were always meant to be, chief innovation officers, will be better positioned to lead their organizations into a successful technology-driven future.

A myriad issues about Satyam Infotech are being written about. A million words being spoken on media. The Chairman resigned admitting that the accounts were fudged to the tune of Rs. 7,106 crore over “several years”. Speculation ranges on how the Company Directors may have carried out the fraud, as much as how much they may have swindled etc. Satyam is already being called India's 'Enron'.

 

Satyam, India's fourth biggest IT company, was the darling of not just the Sensex but of the national and international corporate world. Its dazzling client roster included no less than 185 of the corporations on Forbes 500 list. Satyam was honoured with an award for good corporate governance. But the real damage done by the Satyam blow-up is to the credibility of Brand India as a whole and not just in terms of Information Technology.

 

The Information Technology Sector is one of the country’s most pampered, but it is also one of the exemplars of Brand India. Satyam is one of the top names, having worked its way up diligently to reach these lofty heights. Along the way, Satyam reaped all the benefits of state and central government concessions for years. Then, a couple of days ago, in a complete turnaround, it proposed to change its very business from IT to real estate. The company was plunged into a crisis following an aborted attempt to acquire Maytas Infra and Maytas Properties. Now let us consider Satyam and Maytas. Maytas is Satyam reversed. The glaring lesson that can be learned is that Satyam cannot be reversed.

 

Many people analyzed the undoing of the Satyam management as the result of excess ego or greed. But I was prompted by the inner conscience to analyze the various definitions of Truth in this context for the benefit of the viewers of this photoblog to throw more light on this Satyam fiasco.

 

Truth 1 : Most of Bhagwan Sai Baba’s message and life point to the importance of truth. The chief duty of man is investigation into the Truth. Truth can be won only through dedication and devotion, and they are dependent on the grace of God, which is showered on hearts saturated with love. Truth is more fundamental than the atom. Every atom and every star manifests the Truth to those who have the eyes of wisdom. What is the special nature of man? If he too lives and dies as an animal, how can his supremacy be justified? His supremacy lies in his capacity to become aware of his Truth.

 

Truth 2 : Oliver Wendell Holmes wrote "The best test of truth is the power of the thought to get itself accepted in the competition of the market," in one of his most famous dissertations.

 

Truth 3 : When a drop of water falls into the ocean, it loses its narrow individualities, its name and form, and assumes the form, name and taste of the ocean itself. If it seeks to live separately as a 'drop,' it will soon evaporate and be reduced to non-existence. Each one must become aware that he/she is part of the one Truth that encompasses everything in the Universe. Love wears the mantle of Truth. And one wedded to Truth is ever young and vigorous. The Upanishads have declared that the votary of truth will not know old age. The Bible declares that the body gets fortified by adherence to truth. Truth should not be confined to speech. It must express itself in action.

 

Truth 4 : Even a building can be truthful. This truthfulness derives its essence from the pragmatism and minimalism of the architectural elements within the broader socio-economic and ecological contexts. The approach of an architect can be radical in the sense that it assimilates indigenous traditions, eco-friendliness, economy and simplicity in a truly modernist style. Architectural design usually must address both feasibility and cost for the builder, as well as function and aesthetics for the user.

It must express itself in action. Buddhism also lays down that everyone, irrespective of sex or country, must live up to truth. They have to move beyond the bounds of the limited 'I,' to break loose from the entanglements of the senses. They have to jump over the battlements of the fort called 'body,' and enter enthusiastically the wide world beyond.

 

Truth 6 : Life is the gathering of truth. Any truth we discover must not be allowed to remain isolated in one area of our lives, and certainly must not be allowed to remain merely in our minds. Rather, any truth life reveals to us must filter into every aspect of our lives, like blood to the cells of the body life is one. Truth should be lived.

 

What we do in the span of our lives may bring us financial rewards, status, fame, power, and unimaginable possessions, but lasting happiness and fulfillment are not the byproducts of doing and having. The truth is a startling contrast to the present culture’s credo. Who you become is infinitely more important than what you do or what you have. The meaning and purpose of life is for you to become the best-version-of-yourself.

 

Truth 7 : Truth Is Experimental, Experiential and Existential :

 

The following words from Professor Anil Kumar’s lecture illustrate the qualities of Truth : “Baba said long back, "Come, examine, and experience." Just three words: "Come, examine, and experience." He never said, "Come here and then experience." He never said, "Come here, experience, and then examine." It is not the reverse order. He never said, "If you don’t believe Me, you’ll be finished tomorrow!" He never said that. On the other hand, He gave you an option. "Come, examine, and experience." That’s all. Your experience is the witness. It is final. "Don’t go by the experience of others." That’s what Bhagavan repeatedly tells us. Therefore, even to develop trust, we should experiment. We should experiment because Truth is experimental, experiential, and existential - these three beautiful words or points. Truth is existential. It is existence. You are not importing Truth. You are not exporting Truth. You are not generating Truth. You are not preparing Truth in the laboratory or manufacturing it. Truth is existence, so it is existential. Secondly, Truth is experimental. You can experiment and know the Truth for yourself. I say, "Baba will come to your rescue." "Yes?" You experiment yourself. "Baba is the embodiment of Love." Experiment yourself and find out. "Baba is everywhere." Experiment and see. So, Truth is experimental and existential. You can experience it also. So Truth is experimental and helps us grow. The nature of Truth is existential and experimental. You know Truth by listening to the words of awakened people. The third one is, when we want to develop trust in Him, to experiment with Him whom we want now and whom we need. There were two points mentioned earlier: one is prathyaksha pramaana, the direct cognition. The second one is anumana pramaana, based on doubt or inference. The third one is to follow the words of the awakened people, agama pramaana. Agama pramaana means you follow those who are enlightened who are close to you. But who is it whom you have to follow? Who is near and dear to you? It is clearly said: the Master. Now comes the need for a Divine Master. First comes weakness, "I do not know." Second feeling is "I don’t know and I am not able to know." Then who will help you to know? The Teacher or the Master. Am I clear? So, when the first one, direct cognition (prathyaksha pramaana) fails and the second one, inference (anumana pramaana) also fails, then the third one, listening to the words of the dear and near (agama pramaana) comes. This is the teaching of a Master. The teaching of a Master will help you. When you do not know, when you are not capable of knowing, when you cannot know the Truth, all by yourself. Then the Master will help you. The Master is a necessity.”

 

Truth 8 : Know Truth Through Innocence :

 

Again let us hear the beautiful words of Professor Anil Kumar differentiating truth and Philosophy, “Philosophy is that to which the mind attaches itself. Mind clings to it. Mind labels it. Mind claims to belong to a particular philosophy. I think I am clear. Mind always claims to belong to a particular school of philosophy. But Truth is non-philosophic. Truth is not philosophy and has got nothing to do with it. Why? Truth is born in innocence, while philosophy is born out of the mind. Sathya Sai Baba wants us to know the Truth from the state of utter, total, complete, and absolute innocence. That’s the reason why Jesus said, "You shall not enter into the Gates of Heaven unless you are a child." Can I be a child now? Let me not take it literally. Let me understand that 'child' stands for 'innocence'. What is the innocence of a child? When I kiss a child, the child kisses me back. If I kick a child, after a couple of minutes, the child comes back to me. Even if I beat a child, after a couple of minutes the child will return to me. A child is not revengeful. A child is not rebellious. A child is not reactionary. A child never retaliates, never rebels, and never reacts. A child is innocent and pure. So, Truth is born out of innocence and purity, whereas philosophy is not like that. Philosophy is a dogma and hence, it is so narrow. It is a doctrine to which you get attached.”

 

Truth 9: Every truth has its opposite truth

 

The above is a statement of Sri Aurabindo. Though it is a truth of life, it sounds somewhat strange to us. Karmayogi beautifully explains the significance and validity of this statement. How this can be is a question that arises in the mind. Most rules have exceptions. Some are absolute rules. They have no exception. We believe we must be good. It is true. But there is a desire to extend it. We say next that if you are good, you will prosper. This is not always true. We see that people of bad character also prosper. Maybe they prosper more than good people. When a rule is not absolute, its opposite is also true. The very first step in creation is Sat emerging out of Brahman. As soon as Sat emerged, Asat came into existence. Therefore, each valid truth has an opposite that is valid.

 

Let us consider some such statements. One who reads voraciously becomes wise. Its opposite is also true. Some of the wise men were illiterate. God is just. The world knows of innumerable injustices which God permits. Great souls are adored by the society. They were persecuted often. A rich man is generous. There are misers among rich men. A poor man is debt ridden and America is the richest country. Therefore many nations have invested their money with America with the result that America owes money to a lot of nations. Truth wins. The truth of Jesus was defeated. Education enhances one’s income. Uneducated people often earn more than educated persons. We see spirituality goes with cleanliness. We also see often the opposite. The most spiritual nation in the world, India, is also a dirty nation.

 

Tradition says Paramatma is final. Others say Jivatma is final. Brahman includes Paramatma and Jivatma, and therefore Brahman is final, says Sri Aurabindo. There are times when a very just man is finished. Sometimes we receive such a punishment. To know that a punishment is of higher justice is a spiritual view of life. It is here the above rule or principle is valid. There is a story about Vigneshwara and Vasishta. Someone who was carrying food to Vigneshwara was stopped and questioned where he was going. He answered, “I am carrying food to Vigneshwara who is on eternal fasting. He sits on the other side of the river bank where Vasishta, the eternal brahmachari (bachelor) with a hundred children resides.”

 

Truth 10 : The definition of truth does not come by logic. Whatever will do good to whomsoever it is intended, that should be stated lovingly: that is truth (Satyam)
