Banten is a province of Indonesia, located at the western end of the island of Java. Banten has an area of 9,160.7 km² and population of 9,083,114 (2005). It is named after the former city Bantam

A beautiful day ends with a spectacular sunset. Gili Lawadarat is a small island north of Komodo, no dragons live there, so no reason to die, no houses and no people. A nice place to stay on the boat during night and a perfect place for the best Milky Way I have seen so far.

Mont Bromo (indonésie)

Photo prise en 2009 avec un vieille appareil Canon G3 (Bridge)

Photo taken in 2009 with a Canon camera G3

This is the most dramatic photo of the group, the place where I have seen how it can be hard to support a family.

On the east of the island of Java there is a volcano, the kawijen. In its crater, sulfur has been extracted since the 60's. These miners go down into this hell twice a day and go up wrapped in sulfur vapors. The load on their shoulders touches nearly 100 kgs and often they are barefoot.

I take one of these pictures near the exit of my house door to remind me not to complain about my job!

Once you stand up there you say thank you Lord for being on this wonderful world! What a breathtaking view, close to impossible to catch the wideness of the scene into the camera. This is the sunrise version, we also stayed on the boat during night there.

I wish you all happy Easter!

Wiki engl. says:

Komodo National Park is a national park in Indonesia located within the Lesser Sunda Islands in the border region between the provinces of East Nusa Tenggara and West Nusa Tenggara. The park includes the three larger islands Komodo, Padar and Rinca, and 26 smaller ones,[2] with a total area of 1,733 km2 (603 km2 of it land). The national park was founded in 1980 to protect the Komodo dragon, the world's largest lizard.[3] Later it was dedicated to protecting other species, including marine species. In 1991 the national park was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site.[4]

Komodo National Park has been selected as one of the New7Wonders of Nature.[5] The waters surrounding Komodo island also contains rich marine biodiversity. Komodo islands is also a part of the Coral Triangle, which contains some of the richest marine biodiversity on Earth.

Tellalang Rice Terraces, Bali - INDONESIA

This beach is about a three-hour drive along the highway to the west of Jakarta, and has a great beach for swimming, as the waters are relatively calm on this side of the island. A great place for swimming, scuba diving, snorkeling, sailing, fishing, and underwater photography, this resort offers a complete set of facilities including restaurants, accommodation, motorboats, and diving equipments. This beach is located in West Banten, Labuhan district, Padeglang regency, which is accessible by any land transportation and takes about 3 hours drive from Jakarta. The parlous state of conservation in Indonesia, and in Java in particular means that this small, degraded forest behind this busy beach resort is one of the best places to find some of Java's lowland endemics. The forest has heavily used both by tourists (more high school students) and by local woodcutters and trappers. All the forest on the ridge tops appears to have been recently logged and this forest would appear to have a limited future - another victim of Indonesia's economic woes.

Besides white beaches behind hundreds of swaying coconut trees, one panoramic highlight is the visibility of the infamous Krakatoa Volcano from Carita, rising above the horizon in Sunda Strait between Java and Sumatra. The visitors won't have difficulties finding a place to stay here as many cottages, hotels and camping grounds are all available, not to mention the inevitable seafood.

Accessible from Jakarta over a fair road, the visitors can reach it in less than 3 hours, one third of which is over a toll road, which is being extended to the extreme western part of Java in Merak. Here again, most visitors arrive from Jakarta, as Bandung is more than 6 hours away from Carita by road.

Pura Ulun Danu Bratan, or Pura Bratan, is a major Shivaite and water temple on Bali, Indonesia. The temple complex is located on the shores of Lake Bratan in the mountains near Bedugul. Water temples serve the entire region in the outflow area; downstream there are many smaller water temples that are specific to each irrigation association.

Built in 1633, this temple is used for offerings ceremony to the Balinese water, lake and river goddess Dewi Danu, due to the importance of Lake Bratan as a main source of irrigation in central Bali. The 11 stories of pelinggih meru dedicated for Shiva and his consort Parvathi. Buddha statue also present inside this temple.

Lake Bratan is known as the Lake of Holy Mountain due to the fertility of this area. Located 1200 m above sea level, it has a cold tropical climate.

Thanks for viewing, have a nice weekend guys..

Built around 800AD, this magnificent Buddhist monuments was discovered in 1814 and went throught 2 renovations, 1907-1911 and 1973-1983 to what it is today, close to its original condition. Just came back from a recent trip there to admire the great master piece left for us 1000 years ago for the fifth times. Surrounded by mountain ridges and low cloud during rainy day this scared place generate a sense of spirituality. Borobudur, Java, Indonesia.

this is a verrrrrrry old one and it is from film, so i had to scan it

i made it in 1978 as i was in indonesia for half a year.

a friend took me on a tour on motorcycle through the mountains

we met gorgeous people, locals and children,

and we drank coconutmilk from a coconut somewhere ....

and at last we found high up in the mountains, where one of my cousins had a house.

from my cousins house we had a most breathtaking view over a valley from which

- day and night - so many sounds ascended. like thousands of crickets, paradise birds singing,

cock crowing, dogs belling and once in while you could hear some people playing gamelan

i get tears in my eyes when i hear the music, i was 21 and i knew i had come home.

grew up in holland, but i was born in indonesia ... and came back there for the very first time in 1978

Taman Impian Jaya Ancol otherwise known as Ancol Dreamland is an integral part of Ancol Bay City, a resort destination located along Jakarta's waterfront, in Ancol Kelurahan, Pademangan, Indonesia.

Gong player of the gamelan, a javanese musical orchestra, performing daily at the kraton (a local name for palace). He hardly play except intermittently and one strike toward the end signaling the closure. Most of the time he is enjoying the music. The sultan still lives in the kraton and he is also the governor of the ancient city, Jogjakarta. Java, Indonesia.
