During working days, I sometimes have the chance to have some walks in the logistic ways of some hospitals. Some dislike, for me it's important for the upper zones of activity :)

Heading towards the first traverse in Hospital Level. A harness and a set of cows tails make balancing across the narrow board a lot safer. The shaft goes down a very long way

The facade of a hospital. In the glass front in shape of a cross you can see the reflection of a seagull.
Just beyond the chain to the right is a very deep shaft. The brick work looked really interesting, but I couldn't have got closer without really putting myself in danger. It might be Hospital Shaft. The way on is straight ahead over the planks and into a surprisingly large chamber.

Rosslynlee Hospital was founded in 1874 under its original name of Midlothian and Peebles Asylum (1874 - 1948) then changed its name to Rosslynlee Mental Hospital (1948-60). Set in 64 acres of land, it was a psychiatric hospital until late 2010 and eventually closed early 2011 as it was deemed surplus to requirements due to the construction of the New Midlothian Community Hospital at Mayshade, Eskbank which was completed in September 2010.
Seriously. No fat of anykind.
