"When the wind calls,
You know,
That somewhere in the mountains,
It has found the answers that you were looking for.
The pull of the horizon overcomes the inertia of reason...
And you just have to go."

Horizon off Hecksher drive near Jacksonville, Florida. It was cold and windy as I hiked back away from the road. I turned around and saw the sky and took this shot. During this hike/walk I was attacked on numersous occasions by sand spurs and minature prickly pear cactus. HDR with Picturenaut.
*Horizon:
The line that separates earth from sky. More precisely, it is the line that divides all of the directions you can possibly look into, into two categories: those which intersect the Earth, and those which do not. At many locations, the true horizon is obscured by trees, buildings, mountains, etc. The resulting intersection of earth and sky is instead known as the visible horizon.

" I have two pairs of eyes – one to paint and one to take photographs."
-Jacques Henri Lartigue
Note:
Historically, the distance to the visible horizon has been extremely important as it represented the maximum range of communication and vision before the development of the radio and the telegraph.

Horizon

Here, it's home.
Don't think that I feel isolated or abandoned to the four winds.
Look at it! I have the horizon as my neighbor, my friend, and above all, as a window on the beauty of the world. I will not complain.
Living with the horizon, it is a too rare privilege nowadays. That is why, when the winter squall threatens to erase my horizon, I hasten to paint the sky in the colors of the sun. . . to make it invulnerable to the assaults of the snow and fog.
But you will tell me that painting the sky. . . is also a privilege of our days. Without a doubt, yes, but this is love.
