"Hyangweonjeon" is one of the most photographed buildings in Seoul--this hexagonal pavilion (whose name translates as 'pavilion of far-reaching fragrance) sits on an island on a small lake on the grounds of Gyeongbokgung Palace, established in 1392 as the seat of the newly established Joseon Dynasty. In 1895, in the waning days of the monarchy, Empress Myeongseong (also known as Queen Min) was assasinated nearby. The events surrounding her death eventually led to the Japanese Occupation of Korea from 1910-1945. I took a sewing workshop this weekend with the brilliant Diane Ericson and it has seriously tossed the salad of my creative mind.
This morning, early, this piece just started making itself.... Hours later, I realized I was acting like a proud Grandma making my brave, beautiful Parkland Girls something powerful to wear as they declare war on war in our schools and neighborhoods.
Brava, Brave Ones!

Today's image was taken in Allesley Village. The view is of Stone House. The Grade II* Listed building which dates from the 16th century is one of the oldest still standing in the village.
The photo was taken using the App ExposerGL on my iPhone 6.
First I used the app Handy Photo to edit the image. I used the app to change the White balance and boost the sharpness a little. I also used the retouch function to clean up the picture by deleting the TV aerial from near one of the chimney's and taking away the road markings. I also deleted the two alarm boxes from the main house wall. Next I used the app Lens Flare to add the flare called Desert Sun to the street lamp. After this I used DistressedFX to add the Stirred overlay and the Bliss texture. Finally I used the app PhotoToaster to apply the Vanity Fair preset and the Antique frame.

Today's image was taken in Abbey Fields park in Kenilworth. The picture is of a Barn. It is one the last remaining buildings of the medieval Abbey of St Mary. The Barn could have been used as either a grain store, a fish house of even a brew house.
The photo was taken using the App ExposerGL on my iPhone 6.
First I used the app Handy Photo to edit the picture. I cropped the image and deleted the telephone pole and wiring from the side of the building. Next I used Mextures to apply the preset called Dusted by Ryan Brien. I then used Painteresque to add the Painteresque 2 paint preset. After this I used DistressedFX to add the Stirred overlay and the Lade texture. Finally I used PhotoToaster to add the Contrast Preset, the Stark FX, a medium dark vignette. I then added the Canvas texture and the Charcoal frame.
