Canyon microclimates are fascinating--just a quarter mile from this spot, a cottonwood is still hanging on to last autumn's leaves, but here, the first buds of spring are already showing in the desert...it has been an unusually mild winter in Tucson so far...(iPhone5s)

Seen this last week on campus on a beautiful yet windy spring day. Snapped for the Layers theme for 100x2015.
I was lucky with the light and this little cluster was somewhat sheltered from the spring wind. The bug, was an added bonus.
