Day 1 of my migration from Portugal to France... first stop to take a break from the sweltering heat, by the river Tejo... the whole trip has been a constant quest for places to rest in the shade and with water for Toby to swim... until Saturday when storms struck and we were driving for 5 hours under torrential rain!
The imposter "Dickson's of Erskine ltd" was actually First Stop Travel in disguise. This unusual Plaxton bodied Dennis Dart came from Edinburgh Airport and is seen in Union St Glasgow in mid 2007.

M805GFT was a Dennis Dart / Marshall C37 B40F purchased new by Go Ahead subsidiary Sunderland & District as their 8095 in September 1994. It passed to John Walker's Firststop and was leaving Paisley's Smithhills Street whilst working on the Barrhead /Auchenback service once operated by McGill's of Barrhead. The bus would pass to McGill's of Greenock subsidiary United as fleetnumber 426 after the demise of The Walker Group.
This was taken early one Sunday morning at FirstStop's Depot, which was down near Renfrew Ferry. I arrived to find the place locked-up and was just about to give up when I spotted a security man. As I tried to engage him in conversation it soon became clear that he didn't speak a word of English. He was in fact Polish and sadly I couldn't speak a word in his language. Somehow or other we managed to understand one-another and he allowed me in. It was certainly unusual for me to see FST buses in such quantity. Over the following months I popped in occasionally and would bring a can of coke for my new-found friend on subsequent visits.
Good things don't happen by themselves and rarely come when one only waits and hopes. If it is important, it is up to you, to help it along, actively pursue it.
When you take initiative, take that First Step, gather your energy and turn it toward your goal, bringing it closer, making it clearer. New ideas, wonder dreams, unvoiced hopes come to life with Initiative.
And in making a start, you gain momentum and New Found Strength.

On disposal it passed to Stagecoach Devon (378) before reaching The Walker Group. It initially carried Firststop yellow livery, but this had been changed when the bus was given Gulliver's branding. Driver Joe Dillon edges up to the junction in Paisley's Gauze Street.
This Talbot Pullman was new to Kentish Bus (993) and came to Scotland to join the fleet of Argyll Bus and Coach of Wemyss Bay in 1996. Firststop bought four of them from Argyll, but they were pretty unreliable and didn't last very long. This one is seen crossing Jamaica Bridge in Glasgow City Centre, whilst bound for Penilee on service 281.
