A return visit to this location. Spent a few hours there as the tide came in so hopefully quite a range of images as a result. The title comes from the name of a nearby Roman fort close to the present-day village of Bradwell-on-Sea, Essex, England.

Prospects

A poet goes out prospecting, not knowing

If he will come home with silver, gold or dross

Usually, dry seams are encountered

Sometimes he returns with diamonds

Sometimes only with stones in wet shoes

A running nose and stumbling prose

I've been out with Poppy this evening to the hills near Hayfield, Derbyshire. Took lots of shots as the light was really clear and everywhere is so green up there....the rain has its benefits :D

Poppy is in the middle of a phantom pregnancy at the moment so it helped take her mind of it. The sight of all those sheep was all that mattered LOL.

Windsor Castle is a royal residence at Windsor in the English county of Berkshire. The castle is notable for its long association with the British royal family and for its architecture. The original castle was built in the 11th century after the Norman invasion by William the Conqueror. - Wikipedia

The building of this magnificent Tudor Hall began in the reign of King Henry VIII.

Little Morton Hall in Cheshire was constructed during the Tudor period, with the earliest part of the house begun in around 1504-1508 and the latest addition being completed in 1610. The Moreton family were wealthy landowners in the area and built the house as a symbol of their prosperity.

The house remained in the possession of the Moreton family for almost 450 years, until ownership was transferred to the National Trust in 1938.

Enter via a sandstone bridge across the moat to view this lovely historical hall.

I spent a lovely sunny day exploring this hall and it's gardens, Coot's feeding their chicks, Orange Tip butterfly in the box hedge garden, Mute swan on a nest of 4 eggs by the side of the moat...lovely day! :)

The Lily Beetle has become the lily growers’ nemesis. The beetle became established in Surrey in 1939 and it remained confined to south east England until the late 1980s. By the end of 2011 it had become widespread in England and Wales and was spreading in Scotland and Northern Ireland, it is also beginning to spread in the Republic of Ireland.
