Starting point for todays walk....Go east they said to avoid the rain, so we did but we didnt.

Not much point looking for details in the landscape when the clouds are doing this sort of thing. Had to take some shots sadly.

I saw this vehicle whilst taking a stroll around Scarborough Harbour a couple of days ago. It looked pretty impressive in red and the emblem on the side. Pity about the nose of the vehicle on the left coming int to the shot.

The UK’s largest wild caught shellfish processor, Macduff Shellfish, has acquired the UK’s largest scallop fishing fleet, Scott Trawlers, in a ground-breaking deal for the two businesses, backed by Royal Bank of Scotland.

The deal, a first for Macduff Shellfish in acquiring a whole fleet of fishing vessels, brings together two major players in the shellfish industry and enables greater integration through the scallop fishing, processing, sales and marketing process. It forms part of an ambitious plan by Macduff Shellfish to double the size of its business in the next five years.

Scott Trawlers, based in Dumfries, operates five scallop fishing vessels, two of which have ‘frozen at sea’ capabilities, unique in the scallop industry. The vessels account for over 15% of all UK scallop landings. The company also has a fleet of refrigerated lorries and a marine engineering business, catering for the equipment needs of scallop fishermen. Scott Trawlers employs 50 employees across the three operations, 35 of whom are fishermen.

Macduff Shellfish, based in Mintlaw near Peterhead, processes shellfish and exports to Europe and the Far East as well as supplying the UK market.

MACDUFF .

Not taken this year but on an outing with Jon Brock last year. This was a similar shot to Jon's taken at the same time of this lovely little hawthorn. Sadly I discovered last night that it has been removed by the landowner for some reason. A great shame as it featured in a lot of my photographs of Sylvan Dale and will be sorely missed. Glad I managed a least one decent image. The strange markings are tracks formed by grazing sheep.

Went to Skidby Windmill the other morning to capture a sunrise. What started as looking like I wouldn't get one, paid of in the end.

Withdrawn East Yorkshire AEC Bridgemasters (i think) 9716AT, 9717AT and 9720AT are amongst those parked outside the garage in Pocklington on 22nd December 1974

Building began in 1220 and took 200 years to complete

The times I walked up those steps and had to pause half way and was always out of breath - except for one time when the lifeboat had been launched and I was on the beach and ran out of film. The film was in the car in the car park - I somehow managed to run up the steps to the car park, get the film, load the camera and return to the beach to take more photographs. One thing is for certain I couldn't do it now!

I have fond memories of this place.

I had a play with the split field filter I got for xmas. It makes my digital camera cry. Had to fix his beak up a bit, 'cos I didn't fit it all in the close up side properly. Oops
