Dylan is a wonderful Black Lab,a joy to know. His owners Glenys and Roger are very special people.

"i am against nature. i don't dig nature at all. i think nature is very unnatural. i think the truly natural things are dreams, which nature can't touch with decay.”

Bob Dylan

No se porqué esta fotografía me recordó a Bob Dylan, puede ser por la incertidumbre de esos caminos erráticos o por lo difícil de las respuestas ...

"Blowing in the wind"

Cuántos caminos debe recorrer un hombre

antes de que le llames "hombre",

Cuántos mares debe surcar una blanca paloma

antes de dormir en la arena,

Cuántas veces deben volar las balas de cañón

antes de ser prohibidas para siempre ...

Dylan for PIFAL

Here's my tribute to the very great

Mr. Dylan, who has just come out with yet

another album in his astounding career. It's

called "Modern Times," evoking the spirit of Chaplin -

which is appropriate - as I wrote myself in the introduction

to the interview I conducted with Bob - (and which

is in my book "Songwriters On Songwriting,

Expanded Edition") (It's also in a new book of

Dylan interviews edited by my pal Jonathan Cott,

who I have never met)> To quote myself,

"In person, as others have noted, he is

Chaplinesque. His body is smaller and his

head bigger than one might expect,

giving the effect of a kid wearing

a Bob Dylan mask. He possesses one

of the world's most striking faces;

while certain stars might seem surprisingly

normal and unimpressive in the flesh,

Dylan is perhaps more startling to

confront than one might expect. Seeing those

eyes, and that nose, it's clear that it could be

no one else than he,

and to sit at a table with him

and face those iconic features is

no less impressive than

suddenly finding yourself

face to face with William Shakespeare.

It's a face we associate with

an enormous, timeless body of work,

work that has changed the world.

But it's not the kind of face one

expects to encounter in everyday life."

Mr. Dylan is a Gemini, so the twin faces

here suits his dual nature. His songs are

sad and funny, beautiful and brutal,

full of love and outrage, life and death,

clarity and abstraction.

His press rep at the time insisted I

omit some of the things Dylan said to

me from my interview. One of the best,

which I am happy to share with you here,

is when he mentioned the song "People,"

and sang, in that inimitable Dylan style,

"People who need people are the

luckiest people in the world..." And then

he looked at me

earnestly,

and asked, "Do you think

people who need people

are REALLY the luckiest people

in the world?" He's a man who thinks

a lot about the meaning of songs.

Which is why his

mean so much.

Took Dylan to the beach at Ynyslas to release some energy - what fun we had

This is Dylan, my adorable chocolate labrador dog. I have had Dylan since he was 7 weeks old, and he feels he has been photographically neglected in favour of Shanti lately, so we set out to make a nice portrait of him this evening, on the river.

Dylan is never more at home than in the water, and we take our evening constitutional each evening along the kennet where Dylan enjoys the river, persecuting the the swans and geese, wolfling up their crap, and just having a thoroughly good time.

He has a far wider social circle than I do...the amount of people who say 'evening Dylan' amazes me, I don't know half of them from Adam.

Here's another shot from Friday night's concert. If you saw the description on the last one, you know how difficult it was to get ANY photos, nevermind half-decent ones, which I think this one is.
