Downtown highrises and mountains add some interesting layers across the San Diego Bay early morning as the sun floods the sky. I like to pretend I'm paddling by in my old blue canoe....
another corny title but I'm amused pre coffee....

Weddings, weddings, weddings...The last few weeks have been crazy...work, wedding, editing and then repeat! But I wouldn't have it any other way : ) Anyway, here is another shot from San Diego. I thought this was different enough from the last to be posted. As always, let me know what you think.

To my Flickr Community- I apologize for the watermark. Lately I have noticed my photos being used without my permission and I want to continue to share them online but need to protect them as well.
Thanks!

I'm out in San Diego for the Annual Antibody Engineering meeting. This morning's sunrise over the city was spectacular!
As I was walking down Melrose Avenue I spotted Diego down one of the side streets. It was his hair that initially caught my attention. Then when I got down to where Diego was sitting I realized how cool the windows and wall were behind him. Diego was very interested in my 100 Stranger Project. He had travelled a lot in his life and said that it would have been cool to photograph strangers in the different countries he had travelled too.
Thanks Diego for being apart of my 100 Strangers Project!

Sunrise at the downtown San Diego harbor. I like the reflections on the water, and the clouds give it a peaceful feeling. I was hoping these clouds would light up in vibrant colors, but it never really happened. This was shot using a 10 Stop ND Filter, the Lee Big Stopper.
View of San Diego Cityscape taken from Centennial Park Coronado on Harbor Island.
The park is located right on the bay and has a great panoramic view of the city.
I would like to take the opportunity to thank our friend Brian Jones for spending lots of time with us traveling around the City of San Diego.
Brian is an excellent photographer. Please check his album at the link below, his photographs are a work of art.
Thank you again Brian for taking time off your daily schedule to spend time with us. It was a pleasure getting to know you.

San Diego skyline at night from Coronado Island. A thick veneer of smoke (unlike the marine layer shown here) now hangs over the air due to several major fires in the northern and western parts of the county. Hopefully the winds will subside and cooler, moister air will move in.
UPDATE 01.2012... I found out recently that this image was chosen by the Northwestern Mutual San Diego office for their website... San Diego Group
I love San Diego...

Why is it that whenever I think of San Diego, I think of what Ron Burgandy said about what it means?
After a few days in Las Vegas and LA, losing my money at blackjack, i headed to San Diego. Not many photo opportunities, but i felt like posting at least something from that leg of the trip.
These images are from a recent photographic expedition to San Diego CA. The purpose of the trip was to capture early spring in southern Californian in a location that combines laid back sea side culture with the opulence of the elite wealthy culture and the military culture of the area.
These images today are showing a part of the natural environment of the ocean culture.

San Diego from the Coronado waterfront. Shot over a gazillion times this is the most photographed spot everrrr. Averaging over a bazillion shutter clicks per day!
During or mini vaca I woke up early to try to capture a sunrise over downtown San Diego and hope for some beautiful color in the sky. Unfortunately nothing dramatic appeard at the moment so captured what I could.
Taken from Coronado Island in San Diego, CA.
For this shot I got lucky with the clouds, and the moon rising off to my right (which provided just enough lighting to reflect off the San Diego Skyline).

Here's a couple from a month or so ago, while down in San Diego.
These were both taken from the top floor of a condo in Coronado, who were nice enough to let me in to use the balcony. Usually when I actually ask permission to get in a private building like this to shoot, I get immediately shot down. I usually get some line of bullshit like... "You have to talk to 'such and such' who's on a business trip in Fiji right now. He will be back a week from next Tuesday..." At which time, I will be 500 miles from here, so, I say... Screw it!
