The Eastern Cold Front reached Denmark this week with record breaking frosty days and nights. Copenhageners continue to bike unabated but lots of people here have started to play Peek-A-Boo to protect themselves against the icy wind.

Winter, Spring, Summer, Fall - stockings are always in high fashion and high style.

The melancholy grainy moods of a Nordic winter evening. I particularly like her ultra-grainy shadow, desperately trying to exist despite the low light. And the green vegetables in her bag, so eager to be green in the night.

 

Interestingly, the word umbrella orginates from the Latin 'umbella', or "sunshade, parasol". That, it turn is derived from 'umbra', meaning "shade, shadow". So the umbrella was originally devised to provide shade from the sun [or the haunting glare of nighttime streetlights].

True fact: Copenhagen skies mostly hold their rainy breath back during the morning and afternoon rush hours. However, I'm not sure all Copenhagen Cyclists would agree with the stats.

She seemed impatient waiting for the light to change and the speed with which she accelerated away when it turned green confirmed it.
