Blue skies and green fields ... a strange sight after days of snow covered desert for nearly a thousand miles. Welcome to California.
This California Crescent was photographed at Kinney Creek in Southern Oregon's Siskiyou Mountain's at the head of the Applegate Valley. Photo taken on 5/19/2017.
If you haven't guessed by now, yes it has been lifer week....;-) Last lifer that I got while in California. Only got four, but that is four more then I had...;-)
Again these guys just wouldn't get clear of the branches and this was the cleanest shot that I was able to get.

Sunset behind power towers on the Carrizo Plain. California Valley is attractive to solar power generating companies because of the sunny days and electric transmission lines to tie into the grid from Morro Bay and San Luis Obispo. The Sunpower site is about 8 miles from here. The name of the 115kV transmission line is Temblor-San Luis Obispo. The name of the 230kV transmission line is Midway-Morro Bay (Named for the endpoints of the electric high voltage transmission lines.) David Middlecamp 9-3-09
