HMB! :)

I got tagged by Yuma first and then by Kimberly! XD

16 random things about me .... it's so tough ....

1 - Automatically I bite my tongue or the lower lip when I'm overwhelmed by cuteness of cats. I bite harder when I touch the fluffy animal. Don't know why. I think I do the same when I touch babies. w

2 - Apart from cats, my favourite animal is panda. I want to go to China to see them.

3 - I took a sicky to read the last book of Harry Potter.

4 - #3 reminds me that I used to be an optician. I can examine someone's eyes and make spectacles in about 30 mins...it depends. 3

5 - #4 reminds me that I adore people in specks. Jarvis Cocker and Ingrid Michaelson the most.

6 - My favourite film is In The Mood For Love by Wong Kar Wai. But now I cannot stop watching My Blueberry Nights also by the same director.

7 - I listen to all sorts of music, so I tried to list my favourites but I just cannot do that.

8 - My favourite book is The Romantic Movement or Essays In Love by Alain de Botton. ( Mark!!! I need to speak to u soon I'm so busy but I'll come round soon!! ) These have been with me everywhere. 一番好きな本はアラン・ド・ボトンの The Romantic Movement か Essays In Love。

9 - I cannot drink much. I need 3 or 4 hours to finish a glass of red wine. I sniff beer. A cheap date.

10 - I drink tea. Tea with milk. Far too many.

11 - My favourite food is Thai red curry.

12 - My least favourite food is unstrained sweet bean paste though I love strained sweet bean paste.

13 - I cry far too easily and far too often. I cry to sad news on TV and people in love.

14 - I've spent a year volunteering. I met so many wonderful people and made so many mental photos in my mind that I will never ever forget. In the end I found out I was the one being helped.

15 - Some of my friends outside Flickr call me by my English name, Katie or KT.

16 - I was born in the year of Dragon for Chinese zodiac, which makes me 32.

That was tough!!

And I tag Rogvon I can't wait to read your 16s! :D

The bottom from a bottle of a blue beer-mix-drink.

Boats are my thing and I really took a liking to this little beauty on Beer beach.

We left the familiar suburban sights of Newcastle for the Scottish Highlands at the wee hours of the morning. 5 hours, that's all it takes to be surrounded by landscapes that could inspire even the most ridged of minds.

Our hotel reminds us of a 50s-throwback usually found in once-popular seaside resorts found up and down the UK. The faint smell of old people, foisty, beer stained carpets brought me back to my younger days working as a glass collector at a local hotel and bar.

A blond lass with a heavy Eastern European accent greeted us as we approached reception. In a completely scripted manner, she reeled off all we needed to know and handed us the key. Her grasp of English began to fall apart when we asked her questions that required vocabulary outside of her occupational duties.

Sensing her embarrassment, we thanked her, headed to our room, threw our things down and immediately left to explore. We're taking a small break from hiking at the moment to post this and catch up on some correspondence. Our view over Loch Linhe, with the beautiful sun brightly shining, is magnificent.

This is the perfect place to get some use out of my camera, the first time since we arrived back in the UK.

Today's Photo - Bridges at Blue hour

This is a shot of the bridges that span across the Ciudad de las Artes y las Ciencias.

Processed using 4 exposures (-4 -2 0 +2) in Photomatix and much of the original exposures blended back in. Colour corrections were done in Photoshop using Color Balance layers.

This was a tulip in a Sam Adams Triple Bock bottle, it's a sapphire bottle with gold leaf lettering.

Though the little cobalt bottles still decorate the shelves today, this beer only had 3 vintage releases; 1994, 1995, and 1997. Brewed with two row malted barley, water, Noble hops and yeast, along with maple syrup, it was then aged several months in oak whiskey barrels before being bottled. At the time it was considered the world's strongest beer, and a precursor of today's Extreme Beers.

A beautiful Macaw we met with her owner over at McLarens Landing on Tuesday. The owner brought 2 of his 8 macaws sitting on his shoulders while he rode his jetski up to the island.

The owner sits & drinks beers while the 'tourists' take photos with the birds. He hopes to get a free beer or cash from the more affluent tourists.... I'll be sending him some photos :)

These birds were huge and amazing, I took so many photos!

We visited Beer on a warm summer's day early in September. There weren't many people about so we pretty much had the beach to ourselves except for the fishermen. It seems like a long time ago with all the recent rainy weather. Probably best viewed large.

For when you can not leave home to find mountains do not have no choice but to buy marbles, put beer in the fridge, or buy a Lacasitos and find angles or different compositions to see if you can get a tad to give original touch, although I know it's hard. Open the picture is achieved not typical? That answer I can give myself.

And now the non-naturey-crap portion of today's bokeh uploads =)

Here's a cold sunrise from Tuesday at Beer me dear (that's what you say if your a Devon lad or lass) - the pebbles were frozen so it was really weird walking on almost moulded concrete. Had fun watching the fishing boats go out (even did a little bit of helping). Then there was just one left, the "Blue Lady" - obviously she was a bit cold too ;)

Blue Angel Crying

It was cold and rainy that winter day,

As you sat letting the water wash over you.

Your head was lifted to the sky seeking,

A reason for the pain that you felt.

The thunder crashing was no comparison,

To the shouting in your mind.

Of eyes turned away and pleas ignored,

The hurt caused by the cruelty of life.

Words spoken with the intent to wound,

Were the least of the worries for you.

The bruising they caused would eventually heal,

Unlike the punishment you unjustly knew.

Your cry for help eventually heard,

I came and found you in the rain.

I saw your body bent and broken,

A testimony of the abuse you endured.

You called me your Blue Angel,

For the concern and tenderness I showed,

As I held you in my arms,

Trying to soothe and comfort you.

Your plea is now a memory I carry,

Strengthened each time I receive a call.

I'll always remember holding you,

Until your pain and suffering were no more.
