Pulled down the clarity a little and increased the vibrancy some to bring out that soft side of Spring that we all rejoice at seeing after winter ;)
I was out taking these captures when my daughter came outside and resulted in the capture below. You can get a better sense of the scale of the blossoms and how small that they really are hanging there next to her.

Spring, glorious spring...and from the heart of the blossom there appeared a unicorn...
I wanted to share some items that will be available next month during some new and not so new events. I have been watching the items created by the designers participating in the new event, Totally Top Shelf, and I don't think anyone.....

These blossoms were really pretty and white, the first I've seen fully out, but the grey sky today didn't really do them justice.
The creative process is not like a situation where you get struck by a single lightning bolt. You have ongoing discoveries, and there's ongoing creative revelations. Yes, it's really helpful to be marching toward a specific destination, but, along the way, you must allow yourself room for your ideas to blossom, take root, and grow.

Last year I lost one and a half stone, post Christmas I was back for my weigh in. Instead of sitting around listening to the other members moaning about their weight I escaped to the very nearby park- just before the heavens opened!
I told you there was blossom here! Photoshop action, cold vintage.
Something has been drawing me to magnolia blossoms in the past few days. Maybe it's their fragrance, or because they are here for only a short time and my photographer's eye has been seeing them everywhere for the past two weeks. Ever since I saw a beautiful Magnolia Blossom photo by Imogen Cunningham I've been wanting to see inside of one, and photograph those uniquely curly tendrils.
Yesterday I got in my car with my camera and my step ladder and went on a mission to photograph the jewel inside the blossom. I went from neighborhood to neighborhood making many stops, and discovered that these are very private flowers. The beautiful white petals hug the insides tightly and the moment they do let go, the sun and heat start to brown the entire flower and it all begins to wither away.
I couldn't get inside the flower without prying it open with my fingers (while swatting away bees) which was impossible because I needed my hands to shoot. As I was about to give up and go home I saw one more tree at eye level and as luck would have it, the leaves of the tree had gently forced the magnolia open just enough to see inside before it all started to wither away.

I always think it's fortunate that these two overlap slightly. Even though the daffodils are definitely past their best, they still provide lovely colour.

My old favourite church at Breedon on the hill, I visited a week or two ago and there wasn't a leaf on this tree never mind blossom, so glad I revisited, so I could make the most of that sublime pink blossom natural frame
Flowers of almond under the sunset light. At late winter the first signs of spring.
Blossoms of a Cherry Tree.
This was taken through a fence as the square was closed to the public.
Protesters had camped there. It's a pity that the few spoil for the majority.

I spotted this blue apartment building and blossom from the car in the morning and had to pop back to snap it in the afternoon. I have yet to experience as much hilarity from passers-by as I did on this occasion. I wondered briefly whether I had sprouted a second head...
