Sand between the toes, breezes off the Atlantic, the sound of gulls, waves crashing, sun tan lotion, sea oats and salt spray --- the beach I know and love. It'll be a while yet before another visit to the beach, so I enjoy the memories and paint my visit from past experiences. This painting was another trip down memory lane....
Mom is doing incredibly well as are my sisters, and time with them is enjoyable, relaxing and even energizing. The weather has been wonderful, though warm, but a different warm than the excessive heat and humidity I've experienced all summer. There's a glorious breeze that brings me right back to spring, and a freshness in the morning that hides the humidity that returns by afternoon. Still, seeing Mom doing so well, her mind as alert as ever, (she still is a force to reckon with when playing cards!!! LOL), fills me with an intense gratitude for all she's been through and all the help my sisters have been in her care.
I've a few more days of visiting, then back to my routine and an art show to prepare for. I wish you all a magnificent weekend!!!!

Sunset at driftwood beach. Taken near high tide as the ocean was lapping around the base of these alien-looking trees. 20 second exposure with a 6 stop ND filter, Nikon 18-35 3.5-4.5 G, d750.

cloudy beach is a new edition of an old photo I had pending.
Today I am a bit short of time and I hope you enjoy it.
Just a sunrise picture of the beach where we were on our winter holiday.

Mundesley Beach - playing with longer exposures and risking my camera (he he he - I had a very tight grip on it at all times and a watchful eye for the larger waves coming in!)
This is the last of five pinhole images offered this week of the result of waves on Tobay Beach, Long Island during the time of Hurricane Bill. The story of these images can be found in those four previous entries. I've not shot too many pinhole images of waves coming onto a beach, and this provided me with an opportunity to capture something interesting.
In case anyone is interested, these images were made through my Zero Image 6x9cm. pinhole camera (serial #2) with Acros 100 film, and printed on Oriental Seagul Portrait Warmtone paper toned with selenium.
Thanks for looking, I hope you enjoyed viewing this series as much as I enjoyed putting it together. Feel free to visit my photographic blog, Meanderings, at best.
I liked the look of this neat row of beach huts with their co-ordinated paint job. My eye was also drawn to the rusty stain from the padlock and clasp on the first one.
Cannon Beach Oregon offers some very nice evening walks. Often during your stroll on this beach, you will experience a nice sunset to enhance your adventure.
Please enjoy the view and have a wonderful weekend my dear photography friends. :-)

The many different beaches in Lanzarote are all gorgeous, each has its own special feature. Here are very specially washed out lava stones to see, even with a hole for a small view :-)
Wish you all a great weekend. Enjoy the time with your loved ones.
Thank you for all your likes and comments, you surprise me again and again!
Went out to see if I could catch a sunrise but too much cloud but pleased with this of the Beach Huts
The calender may say winter, but the weather here is saying spring with temps in the low 80's, and no wind to speak of. Perfect beach weather, even with the high surf advisory, and warnings to stay out of the water.. it worked for me in this shot...lol

"There are only two lasting bequests we can hope to give our children. One of these is roots, the other, wings. "- Johann Wolfgang von Goethe
Went for a lengthy drive to explore the great rocks at this beach. While there I took this image of the partly submerged rocks sitting at the low tide waterline.
I timed the exposure to coincide with the receding wave - hope you like it!
Hope you had a great New Year's evening of celebrations and are ready for the rest of 2015!
Much appreciate any comments, views or favorites - thanks!
The prospect of a long day at the beach makes me panic. There is no harder work I can think of than taking myself off to somewhere pleasant, where I am forced to stay for hours and 'have fun'.

Bet you think I'm sitting at home. No.
Bet you think that I'm all alone. No.
Bet you think I'm missing you and wishing you would call my phone,
Hell, no!
