This needle felted and machine embroideried quilt was mostly finished several years ago. I could not find a photo and today it is going to a new home! So, today I finished the edges and signed the back and photographed it. This is about 9x12 inches.

Linen with cotton patches and appliqué. Cotton batting.

Nostalgia- dried hydrangea bloom

This one's for Mary. Hang in there! Life's like a quilt, you just never know which square's gonna come up next, and for sure you never know how the whole thing's gonna turn out. But for sure, it'll be interesting. And worth looking back on when it's over.

Update: 4.7.06. This painting sold quickly at my show at the bank!

Update: 10.11.07: This painting continues to be my all time favorite on Flickr. Thank you Flickr friends!

Deep Treasure would be my second mermaid art quilt that I created. It was a fun piece and it two about two months to create and it was a labor of love.

Custom order. The receiver is a soon-to-be PhD, she writes about "Inner landscapes" in children's books.

This photo is scanned. It is of my Grandmother taken sometime in the 1940's. She is working on a quilt, made from worn out clothing. Nothing is more American than the art of quilting

My quilt for the Festival of Quilts 2011

I finished my little experiment yesterday, and I'm really happy with the outcome! The finished size is 8.5 X 9.25 inches.

I'm gathering and making samples of quilted items I've made using a shibori technique called itajime.

I'll be heading to Cleveland next week to tape a segment of Quilting Arts TV and a DVD.

Our progress so far in my Wednesday Sewing Group. I am a little stumped on how to quilt it.

This is a much loved quilt I made for my sweet eldest about 4 years ago.

Embroidered mini art quilt. Featuring over 250 french knots, (I was curious so I counted!) Measures 7.5" x 7.5"

This is my quilt that was selected as a finalist in the Quilting Arts Reader's Challenge. I took the photo of the coneflower in 2009. I manipulated it in Photoshop Elements, printed it on printer fabric, then thread sketched and quilted it. It is 10" square.

You can check the June/July 2015 issue of Quilting Arts Magazine and their website (quiltingdaily.com) to see all of the finalists' work.

Reaching back to early November: highlights from Quilt Festival Houston 2011.

The photo just doesn't do it justice but I finally finished my artsy wall quilt. The centre of each square is from two ties that I just loved. And the rest shall we say is history.

The piece measures approximately 28" each way. Each tiny quilt is 4" square.

55" x 75". Quilted with Aurifil 2021. All Art Gallery solids.

Now available in my shop. See profile for details.

I'll probably over-dye this - it's not too interesting.

Raw edge appliqué, needle felting. Free motion machine quilting. Journal quilt sized 12x9 inches. This was homework for my art quilt group.

"20x20" fabric, canvas, vintage trim, painted & embossed sheet metal, gold, silver & copper chain, filigree & charms, copper mesh, sea glass, cabachons, beaded flower & berries, alphabet tiles, shell flowers, magnesite peace signs

Ahhh... an old favorite mixed with a bit of experimentation - I stretched this mini over canvas stretchers.

All that remains is to bind the edges....unless I decide to take out the vertical background stitches and put more confetti stitches on it instead of all the vertical....
