... when you carefully put two bricks together. There it begins.
(Ludwig Mies van der Rohe)
Have a nice day :-)
Put new snow tires on my Magnum yesterday. (Yep, snow isn't far away here in northern Canada.)
While I waited for the tire guys to do their thing, I walked around our city's downtown. Very cold wind, but the sun was bright.
This pretty building is all done in some sort of copper overlay on the windows. It looks so great reflecting the clouds.

Islamic architecture began in the 7th century CE, developing from the architectural forms of the ancient Middle East but developing features to suit the religious and social needs of the society. Examples can be found throughout the Middle East, North Africa and Spain, and were to become a significant stylistic influence on European architecture during the Medieval period.

Memories are the
architecture of our identity.
It is unreal standing on the black sand and watch all the ice big and small wash up on the beach ,before you know it you are hit by a big splash and be careful cause behind you there are loads of ice laying around and easy to trip over them :) feels like you are on a far away planet :)

My portfolio:
I just realized that I never mentioned anything about that month break. It was a good experience, and I think beneficial to my photography. I actually felt more focused on improving my photos than usual. I began the year feeling sort of uninspired by the Detroit area. I was starting to feel like I had photographed nearly every building around here, and kept telling myself that I needed to shoot in other cities to find something new. Over this past month, I realized that I was limiting myself and there are still plenty more photos to be made/taken/whatever you want to call it...here. I have been challenging myself with shooting more street photography. I have been enjoying the spontaneity and randomness of shooting street vs. the more meticulous nature of architecture. However, I think I started to see this architecture series in a new way over the past month and I still probably enjoy photographing buildings more than anything.

I love the surreal look of this image in color, and I think it looks even cooler in Black and White.
I made a print available here.
