Nikola Mašić (1852-1902) has got an education in Munich, Vienna, and Paris, and a good part of the practical experience has aquired by traveling through Italy. After returning to Zagreb becomes professor of drawing, and then the director of the Strossmayer Gallery. His paintings are mainly characterized by idyllic academicism without excessive intrusion into abstraction and modern painting directions and the main motives are rural, mostly idyll from Posavina and study of ordinary people, mostly residents of Lika and Posavina.

 

3167 Kunst Studija sa Mora Nikola Mašić (1852-1902) školovao se u Münchenu, kao i Beču te Parizu, a dobar dio praktičnog iskustva usvojio jeputujući Italijom. Po povratku u Zagreb postaje profesor crtanja, a potom i ravnateljem Strossmayerove galerije. Njegove slike mahom karakterizira idilični akademizam bez pretjeranog zadiranja u apstrakciju i modernije slikarske pravce, a glavni motivi su mu seoske, uglavnom posavske idile te studije običnih ljudi, najčešće žitelja Like i Posavine.
