Turning off runway 28 at RAF Mildenhall after arriving as Air Force One with President Joe Biden onboard

The President of the United States must be ready to travel anywhere in the world on a moment’s notice. Fortunately, modern presidents have access to a variety of transportation options — including flying aboard Air Force One.

Technically, “Air Force One” is used to designate any Air Force aircraft carrying the President, but it is now standard practice to use the term to refer to specific planes that are equipped to transport the Commander-in-Chief.

Today, this name refers to one of two highly customized Boeing 747-200B series aircraft.

Air Force One is one of the most recognizable symbols of the presidency, spawning countless references not just in American culture but across the world. Emblazoned with the words “United States of America,” the American flag, and the Seal of the President of the United States, it is an undeniable presence wherever it flies.

Inside, the President and his or her travel companions enjoy 4,000 square feet of floor space on three levels, including an extensive suite for the President that features a large office, lavatory, and conference room. Air Force One includes a medical suite that can function as an operating room, and a doctor is permanently on board. The plane’s two food preparation galleys can feed 100 people at a time.

In 1962, President John F. Kennedy became the first President to fly in a jet specifically built for presidential use — a modified Boeing 707. Over the years, several other jet aircraft have been used, with the first of the current aircraft being delivered in 1990 during the administration of President George H.W. Bush.

What a fantastic day I had yesterday at RAF Mildenhall! I've been following all the updates from the aviation geeks in the last week to find out where the Air Force One would be landing. It looked like it's going to be Mildenhall so I drove there yesterday lunch time. Really glad I had a chance to photograph this awesome plane! This is the arrival of the plane before it touched down. After that I moved to the other side of the runway to see its departure.

After the 92-9000 caught two years ago, here's the spare (for today) one!

Finally and concerning to the schedules at Zurich, i prefered to go to Ramstein in order to have it perfectly as my weather forecast predicted a marvelous winter light.

Still no E-8 for me but next time, it should be the one!

As it was the 50th anniversary of the 747 yesterday (09.02.19) I thought I would look back to arguably one of the most famous 747s in the world. "AIR FORCE ONE" was seen taxing for departure to Glasgow Prestwick (EGPK/PIK) with President Donald J Trump onboard after a very controversial visit to the UK. This VC-25A is operated by the 89th Air Wing at Andrews AFB and hopefully will get another opportunity to photograph it when Trump visits in December 2019.

Departing from Aberdeen Dyce airport is this USAF Boeing C32 transport plane.

The Boeing C-32, (Boeing 757-2G4), is a military passenger transport of the United States Air Force, providing transportation for United States leaders to locations around the world. The primary users are the Vice President of the United States (using the distinctive call sign "Air Force Two"), the First Lady, and the Secretary of State. On rare occasions, other members of the U.S. Cabinet and Congressional leaders have been authorized to fly aboard the C-32 for various missions. The C-32, since its debut, has also served as Air Force One in place of the larger VC-25A to airports that cannot accommodate the Boeing 747-based "jumbo" jet.
