The Lotus 79 was the first F1 car to take full advantage of ground effects aerodynamics, pioneered in its immediate predecessor, the Lotus 78. The undercar pressure problems in the 78 were resolved with the 79, with further design work on the venturi tunnels under the car, which allowed the low pressure area to be evenly spaced along the whole of the underside. This was achieved by extending the rear bodywork to a point inside the rear wheels, allowing the underside to extend further back, instead of ending abruptly in front of the rear wheels as on the 78. As a result, the rear suspension was also redesigned to allow the air to exit the rear more cleanly than on its predecessor. This allowed a smaller rear wing to be designed, causing less drag.

The 79 proved to be almost unbeatable during the 1978 Formula One season and provided an unprecedented level of domination. The car took six more victories during the season giving the drivers' championship to Andretti, and the constructors' championship to Lotus. Its only serious rivals during the season were the Ferrari 312T3, and the advantage its Michelin tyres gave in hot weather conditions, and the Brabham BT46B "fan car".

Today was a good family day of rest. We went to Chinatown for viet food and went to other places too. Slowed down the day by taking Kaka to Steveston for a walk. Maybe I'm getting old or something, but I'm enjoying walks more than video games/games in general these days. I feel like finding a new coffee shop to simply sit down in and read.

Rogue Players--Dark Place

A dark place for me is thinking about my dad and his depression. My mom has it and I've had it. I get scared about what will happen and I just don't want to get to that point again of helplessness and lonliness.

I had a really vivid dream of my dad a few night's ago. He was sitting at a table and I sat down across from him and he said, "Hey Chris!" (I don't think he ever called me Chrysty) and I told him I really missed his voice. That's all I remember of the dream, but I remember how he looked so vividly.

It's weird how things can pop up that remind me of him and make me miss him so much. But then on certain days that should mean more to me, I don't get as emotional.

Today's Random Fact: I am going out to dinner to Pizzeria Bianco tonight for the first time! It's supposed to be like the best pizza EVER!

PicMonkey fun with a prime number.

it's a 1969 Impala with a 1979 Corvette attached simulating a drunk driving wreck that really happened. It was made by Ralph Malanado at the Lazer Rock Paint and Body Shop in Albuquerque and he drives it in parades.

As a little project during the course of a trip to Europe last summer, I sought out each number from 1 to 100 in a natural setting. It created some fun scavenger hunting and creative photo opportunities. :o)

Divina Gulica driving the lotus 79 that hector drove in the day..this is not the andretti car...oddly enough tho, both cars reside here in connecticut, just miles apart.. Duncan Dayton owning the Andretti car, this belonging to a private collector who hired Divina to drive it during our HGP support race with A1 Grand Prix in Monterey mexico

My old glasses were probably about 7 years old & now that I'm on Matt's insurance it was time to splurge for a new pair.

79. Monday 19th of March. This was actually Sunday night, however it was after midnight. I was hired by Letitbleed to shoot at the 2manyDJ's show in the Forum. Really enjoyed it, perked me up from my previous day at least. 79/366
