First upload from the 5Dmk3. Father and son out on the loch as the sun comes up on a very foggy morning. Visibility was terrible but it was beautifully still and silent.

Equipment: Canon 5Dmk3, 24-70L @46mm, 1/5″ @ f/11. 2 stop ND hard grad on sky. Tripod, remote release. Head net and total body coverings (midges were a nightmare).

Conditions: 5.30am, very still with clear sky and mist rapidly burning off.

This image above was taken that same morning at Loch Clair. This is a more well known location and the perfect stillness of the morning left a mist hanging in the dawn light. Perfect. Many thanks to Douglas Griffin for his fantastic advice on locations. Check out Flickr posts by Douglas and Bruce Percy for amazing images of this location.

A lovely little spot located on the river Etive in Scotland found by Anth. I've no idea how he found this location because its hidden from view.

Check out the other lads photostreams for more images from our visit in the Highlands.

Vi è un luogo dove il mistero del cielo s'incontra con la profondità del mare .... è quella linea immaginaria che si chiama orizzonte dove sorge il sole e dove ogni essere umano può ancora sognare!

Not had many chances to get out over the last few weeks, decided to go and have some practice on the beach this morning, couldn't resist my old boat called Maggie (R).

Another image from my first landscape shoot with the 5dmk3. In these conditions, i really don't think it out performs the 5dmk2 though this scene didn't really test the chromatic aberration corrections its supposed to have for the 16-35mm lens. There have been some beautiful dawns and dusks around Adelaide recently - pity I just haven't been able to get to all of them !!

That time of year when the sun becomes visible on the horizon so the boats are pointing in a good direction, the opposite at sunset you get the back end which makes for a harder composition.

49 x 30sec exposure.

f1.4, ISO200 @50mm

This is a complete stranger my daughter befriended at the park. I was watching them play from a distance when I was fortunate enough to capture this spontaneous moment of kindness. There is a lesson for all of us here.

I went to the corner of Clay & Jones to take a shot of the TransAmerica Pyramid along with the Bay Bridge in the background. When there, a very nice night security guard took me up to the top of one of the buildings and I got this beautiful photo of the city! I actually took eight photos for a panorama, but honestly, this is the single image I like the most, even more than the panorama.

View of Giannena from across the lake. If you go fullscreen you can see the smog from all the fireplaces hovering above the city.
