Wer schonmal am Hintersee war kommt an diesem Motiv meistens nicht vorbei. Die Ruhe an dem Abend war fantastisch. Am Hintersee ist deutliich weniger los als an dem nah gelegenen Königssee - steht diesem aber an Motiven in nichts nach.

Anyone who has ever been to the Hintersee has probably seen these trees. The tranquility of the evening was fantastic. Around the Hintersee there is clearly less going on than at the nearby Koenigssee, and it’s got a lot to offer in terms of photography.

It is a compass, with a mirror and with magnifiers at the sides used as binoculars, and is made in Germany, gave it to my grandfather when he did military service in the 1940s.

Freelensed reverse lens macro
Not completely happy with the focus here but I set myself a difficult challenge today. I used an old helios 44M lens reversed as macro but attempted to learn freelensing in the process (I am a big fan of lensbaby so freelensing has been on my must learn list for a while!)

Attempt to reverse macro freelense again. Not so successful this week, it is bloomin hard! More 'normal' macro shot in comments (but not as fun!)

The Prinsenhof (building in front on the left hand side), Delft, Netherlands
The Prinsenhof ("The Court of the Prince") in Delft in the Netherlands is an urban palace built in the Middle Ages as a monastery. Later it served as a residence for William the Silent. William was murdered in the Prinsenhof in 1584; the holes in the wall made by the bullets at the main stairs are still visible.
The building now houses the municipal museum. The museum was established in 1911. Today, the building displays a collection of Dutch Golden Age paintings
Below those cables there is a football pitch, I think someone lost the match....

beim anderen Foto mit Füße hoch ist sie mir leider aus dem Bild gefahren
Seen yesterday in Beelitz (near Berlin)
in one of these "LOST-PLACES" where I can get lost, too.
The bubbles made my dream come true.
We made our first "Flickr-Meeting" in Berlin
and it´s a wonderful thing that some of my flickr-friends
now do have also faces, voices and histories :)

Mark Twain claimed that he was the first person in the world to apply the type-machine to literature. He wrote The Adventures of Tom Sawyer between 1872 and 1874 and had a machinist to type-copy it on Remington typewriter. I just hope it was in better shape than the one in the picture.
