My father had a massive heart attack last night. Keep him in your prayers, please.

This week has been very stressful and painful and emotional. I can't really express how I'm feeling but I hope you all are bettering yourself and speaking through your heart. I learned this past month that speaking with your heart may be best right now. Maybe for you. Maybe for me.

I really wanted a picture of my dad. But this is me for now, and I hope you all enjoy your night. Thank you.

Sincerely, Lauren.

P.S. I'd like to give a huge thank you to all those who write me flickr mail and emails and messages through tumblr. You are all so sweet.

Day 46

"Switch"

Don't compare your life to others. You have no idea what they have been trough, you are who you are and you are perfect in your own special way…

For the past couple of weeks these American White Pelicans have been cruising the skies and the river near my home.

take me back summer

I think tulips are even more beautiful when they fade.

Woke up bright and early (think 3:00am) to shoot with Brooke and Katie Johnson, both of whom are of course talented in their own respects. We had a great time shooting and I can't wait to see Brooke's shot, from what I saw it was rather smashing so get ready!

I figured I'd get my 365 out of the way while I was there. I'd like to re-shoot something along these lines at a later time. I'd rather not reveal my inspiration behind this image before I can do it justice.

I really really need new dresses.

Check out the magic Brooke made with Katie and me here!

The full-resolution version of this image was tragically lost, and therefore this photo is unfortunately unavailable for publishing or licensing.

Class 46 locomotives were rare visitors to March as the local drivers were not trained on the type. Here 46039 arrives on a Freightliner from the Peterborough direction at just after 13.00 on Wednesday 22nd June 1983. It returned west light engine shortly afterwards after berthing the train in March Up Yard.

after exploring the river Taugl 46 hours in the last 6 months i finally can say i know this gorge like the back of my hand... i have seen some nice pics in this gorge but those people never told the exact point where they took their beautiful pics because they earn money with guided tours... so guys guess what. i think i will do it neither. haha

I left the rising moon convention early to check out the views from Highway 46. Typically I shoot toward the rock at Morro Bay, but the sun is setting further north these days. This view is north of the highway--across the road from where cars gather at sunset. I kept darting back and forth across the highway to get the best view. Steve said if I left the party early I had to post. So here it is. I confess--it took HDR to get the full range of tones. Beth's recent gorgeous shot inspired this one.

Holy wow, was it ever cold this morning. Jonah and I went out to take this picture and came right back in. The frost on the long grasses was beautiful, but we'll look at it from inside where the temperature is always 68 deg.

This was my first attempt at a silhouette shot (please tell me I spelled that correctly). While there are always things I wish I could have done better, I'm pretty happy with the result all the same. I'm sure I'll try it again in 2012. Also, this was taken with the group challenge, "black", in mind.
