No real reason except that I had a pomegranate so photographed it and added the usual photoshop effects to it!

The clouds were quite dramatic at Pismo Beach today.

Day 10!

Man I am loving taking photos everyday again. It is so fun.

Today really makes me see how rewarding this project can be.

I hit up one of the parking garages downtown and for the first time decided to try my hand at a long night exposure shot.

It turned out way better than I expected and I couldn't be happier with it.

I have a busy day tomorrow, so a quick shot will be the order of the day. Tonight, however, I wanted to do something a little more intensive.

And then it rained; not a lot, but enough to be annoying, and mean that I needed to be quick with these shots.

I would have liked more time to experiment and to change the EL wire colours.

Definitely more practice needed!

The entrance to Newhaven Harbour and I spotted this some weeks ago. Today, I had the time to go back with the camera and I wasn't disappointed.

On this day in 1918, finally the guns fell silent on the Western Front and the slaughter of millions finally came to an end. As we spend but two minutes of silence to reflect upon those who made the ultimate sacrifice in all conflicts, I found the opportunity to improvise the sheer significance, with a fallen poppy, upon a cross on the floor: a floor where many have fallen before.

In the ongoing quest to find a picture of the day, I managed to stop today and grab a shot of these fields.

I've spotted them a few times on the way to work, and wanted to shoot them before they disappeared.

Luckily the sky had some detail in it too. The sky has been flat recently and I wasn't sure if it would break at all today.

It is almost sunset season! The clocks go back on Sunday to signify the coming of the dark nights. This means that most afternoons, I'll be on the roof at work! The challenge is to find something a little different.

I needed to get a couple of themes done today, so thought I would see how many I could achieve in one image for the groups I belong to. So here we are 4 themes in one image, I'm a happy bunny!!

I had been to the Marble Arch caves about 20 years ago and I had very vivid memories of the last trip.

We were in Cavan for the weekend and this place is about an hours drive across the boarder into Northern Ireland.

The tour of the caves was as good as I had remembered it and entering the caves on a boat really is a nice touch of drama.

After the tour we spend hours in the adjoined park land and found these cascades. I shot a roll of film here also and hope that I can get some prints of this location.

Packing Up.

Christmas is over. The decorations have come down for another year.

If i could i would take this stroll every day. It was a nice time of year to visit. From where we park you can trace the house of the river and see where it joins the lake. This is the route we walk and it seems a bit further than it feels when you walk it.

It's amazing that we are on the verge of closing out the first month of a New Year [2014]. We succeeded and we survived the previous year - however we did it! Now we are looking at new opportunities and new obstacles and new challenges that we must wrestle.

Like this image portrays: launch! Don't wait. Don't hesitate. Launch. Attack. Beat it. Go for it. Do it. Do it with passion, do it with focus and do it until it's done.

'Transport'

Little bit of a tenuous link -however we do need roads for many forms of transportation!

Originally took it as I really liked the tree, then I was struggling for something for the transport link for the '52 weeks of 2014' group and thought why not!

I took this while waiting for dinner at Narrabeen Shops. Cars on Pittwater Rd in the background.

Here's another lucky capture wherein just enough sunlight was poking through our cherry blossom tree and the wind was blowing gently enough to push this leaf into that sunlight. Two neighbors passed by when I was just staring up into the tree for a long period of time. I think they think I'm crazy.

I am currently on a printing binge. I have the darkroom setup in such a way at the moment that I can pretty much close the door and start printing. It makes contemplating a session a very easy process.

The shots here are all from a roll of TRI-X that I had developed in the morning and scanned to see how they looked. Initially I was concerned about my developer choice, the scans looked a little too grainy for portraits but when I printed them I was much happier with the results.

More printing, less scanning!!

Playing around with Lego and cotton wool. I saw the cotton wool used online with a small shuttle, and thought it looked great, so I had a go. I'm pretty pleased with the result.

A tulip nearing the end of its life growing through iron railings.

It's surprising that a tool designed to inflict pain can make be into an object with artistic potential.
