This is a sunset over one of tne 100's of lakes that are in the Central Florida area. This one is Lake Ivenhoe which is in downtown Orlando..
Today marks 90 days since I bought the D90 and started taking pictures after a 20 year absence. This is picture number 11,309 taken during those 90 days. "If at first you don't succeed, take a few thousand more."
I generally don't like my own work and see so many photographers on Flickr who have photos that I absolutely love. Photos that draw me in and make me look a third time. I thank you for this.
For some reason, this one I like. I hadn't posted it yet because I didn't want to spoil that for myself. But it's ok now. I'm over myself. :)

Rubbish day today, so I didn't go out.

Last weekend I went off to Joshua Tree National Park with Steph Sawyer to enjoy the Southern California skies.... This is 1.15am over the Arch at White Tank. We were grateful the light painting situation was already taken care of by a guy called BK who was doing some time lapse stuff.
Some words of wisdom- when you're in a dark place... take a chance and look UP... it changes ones whole perspective on Life! I hope you'all are having a great weekend!! :D

Forgive my billy goat gruff analogy here but I couldn't resist. Taken at the UP Technohub very early this morning, this photo does it for me because of the golden light that shines down on the fence and gives it this warm glow.
This light for me symbolizes a promise of hope; hope that this week will be better than the last; hope that in the midst of discouragement there are still people I can rely on for love and support; and hope that there are indeed better things to come.

This photo is taken from inside The Shard. The building was completed in 2012, is 309.7 metres (1,016 ft) high, making it the tallest building in the UK. The aeroplane in the centre of the image is a WW2 Spitfire built in 1944 and the one to the right is a Messerschmitt Bf109 'Buchon'. The image was created for The Kreative People Contest "Vanishing Point" . Because of the design of the building there are many false vanishing points but the true vanishing point is above and to the left of the tail of the Spitfire.
'Reach for the Sky' is also the title of a film and book about the life of Group Captain Douglas Bader who, after having lost both legs, flew fighter planes during WW2, amongst them Spitfires similar to the one in my photo.

I wanted to post something special for my third flickrversary and became overjoyed when I realized I had captured a real steam devil (on right, like a cyclonic dust devil but with steam) at Grand Prismatic Hot Springs, Yellowstone National Park! How I missed this earlier is beyond me, I have five total shots showing it that confirmed it was indeed one spinning away. Thanks all for three amazing years of friendship, growth and fun!

The late-autumn noon-day sun lights up groves of Quaking Aspen (Populus tremuloides) as the view extends from north to south along the Capitol Creek watershed, in the Maroon Bells-Snowmass Wilderness of the Elk Range, Colorado. In the distance on the left, the summit of Capitol Peak (14,137 ft; 4,309 m) stares down the drainage, commanding a good deal of attention with its sheer approach along a knife-edge ridge.
I've been thinking about climbing Capitol Peak for several years, and haven't managed to organize it yet. I suspect there's no time like the present, since one never knows how well knees will continue to age if I am given the opportunity to further explore my forties. It would be quite something to soar above this valley like a raven, as one who knows the place through all seasons of the year, and remembers each spot where fortune has been found. However, I will happily content myself with plodding up-hill, and camping in this beautiful forest, should it come to pass.
