Volvo Olympian R757 DRJ was formerly in Magicbus blue and based at Princess Rd Manchester .Transferred to United Counties last November and reliveried it already looks a bit tatty....June 19 2012 on West Bridge Northampton

16015 P815GMU has been withdrawn at Northampton which explains (above) 16492's appearence - this is a recent transfer from Warwickshire and intersting as Northampton previously had no short wheelbase/Cummins engined Olympians. It worked the 1405 Northampton to Bellinge route 17.

16691/2 P691/2JBD, 16693-6/8/9 R693-6/8/9DNH were in use at Northampton on this date, also there are 16757 R757DRJ.

In reserve at Northampton are 16018 P818GMU and 16167 R167HHK.

16691 had been withdrawn to reserve in September having been reinstated with 16018 and 16167 during the Olympics but unlike the other two this one returned to service - until it hit a low bridge in Kettering just before Christmas 2012...

Lost its Magic...

Upper deck of Stagecoach Manchester Magic Bus, 17658, passing through Didsbury Village. Despite being there originally, the 'magic' vinyl has been mysteriously removed. The old fleet number '158' can be seen next to the stopping display.

The bus was involved in an accident in Fallowfield on 07/05/11, with minor damage on front nearside.

Side note: if anybody could tell me why random buses have either 'magic' or 'bus' - or both - removed from the front, as the case here, (I've noticed 17627, 17638, 17641, 17657, 18285, 18290 and former Manchester Olympian 16757 affected aswell) I'd be grateful.

Stagecoach in Northampton's 16757 (R757 DRJ), Volvo Olympian/Alexander RL, pictured in Broughton working service 39 to Northampton. 23/08/12.

To my knowledge, while this vehicle is officially allocated to Northampton, it has been on loan to Kettering since November 2011 now. I can only assume this is for early morning 39 duties from Kettering going to Northampton.

12th April 2014

Stagecoach Olympian 16755 is seen on the 38, and came here to Northampton along with 16757 when they used to be in Magic Bus blue livery; 16757 I thought was unwanted by Stagecoach but 16757 is now at Stratford-Upon-Avon; 16755 then went to Kettering explaining why it's on service 38. - Oct. 29 2014.
