L'escultor Antoni Boleda treballant al seu taller de les Penelles en l'escultura d'homenatge al president de la Generalitat, l'any 1976.
Aquesta escultura que es troba al poble del Tarròs (Urgell) forma part del conjunt monumental que es va bastir en record del president Companys.
Algun dia -abans de que no sigui massa tard- caldria fer un homenatge a l'escultor i a les persones promotores de la iniciativa.
La fotografia la va fer el meu pare, en Jaume Oromà Mulet.
Fa uns anys, la vam cedir a l'Arxiu Comarcal de l'Urgell i en forma part dins de la
Col·lecció d'imatges comarcal, amb el número 1008.

"El proyecto de monumento a LiuÃs Companys, aprobado
Será erigido en su pueblo natal, Tarros d'Urgell
Semanas atrás y a través de estas mismas páginas, ofrecÃa- mos un comentario de las gestiones que se llevaban a cabo por la Comisión Organizadora de la «Campanya Pro-Monument a LluÃs Companys», al objeto de llevar adelante el ambicioso proyecto de levantar en la población natal del que fue presidente de la Generalitat de Catalunya, un importante monumento que perpetuará su memoria, en Tarros d'Urgell. Ahora, la noticia sobre el particular se ha producido, tras la oportuna aproba- ción por la Generalitat de Catalunya del refer'dó proyecto, el cual pronto va a ser una magnÃfica realidad. El propio realizador del anteproyecto, el escultor tarregense Antonio Boleda Ribalta, nos ha informado que la realzación del citado monumento ya se le ha confirmado de una manera oficial por la citada Comisión Organizadora. La plasmación de esta importante obra escultórica llevará varios meses de trabajos para ser entregada seguramente en la venidera primavera. Dicho monumento se ha concebido para ser realizado en piedra del paÃs, en la calidad conocida popularmente como piedra de «La Floresta», cuyos grandes bloques han sido ya encargados a dichas canteras. En la citada obra domina preferentemente la escultura, de unos dos metros de altura, que representa la figura del hombre, [...]
Todo el conjunto de! monumento será efectuado en el taller-estudio que en Penelles posee el escultor tarregense, siendo ésta una de las más importantes obras escultóricas qua Antoni Boleda habrá realzado hasta el momento. Después, y tal como concibieron sus dinámicos promotores de Tornabous, Ta- rros i Guardia de Tornabous, dicho monumento será colocado en el pueblo natal, Tarros d'Urgell, del president LluÃs Companys i Jové, en una jornada con- memorativa de inauguración oficial de dicho monumento, que se dará a conocer oportunamente. —J. "«Debernos seguir eI ejemplo, el coraje y la fe de este hombre»
El acto fue presidido por el presidente de la GeneralÃtat Josep Tarradellas, al que acompañaban su esposa y varios consellers.
[...] Estaba presente la comisión promonumento a LluÃs Companys. Después de firmar en el libro de honor del Ayuntamiento de Tornabous y de visitar las instalaciones del mismo, el presidente se dirigió al lugar donde se encuentra emplazado el monumento al borde de la carretera comarcal de Tà rrega a Balaguer y a unos 250 metros de dicha localidad.
Consiste en un monolito de piedra de 1,80 de alto, donde están grabadas en la piedra las cuatro barras catalanas y en el centro figura un medallón de bronce con la efigie del president Companys y una escultura cia unos dos metros de altura que representa la figura del hombre."

Perchè non odio chi si scontra con la polizia ma odio chi parla solo di quello dimenticando che a Roma c'è stato il corteo più partecipato d'Europa e del mondo. Odio chi pensa che le manifestazioni debbano svolgersi nello stesso modo in tutta Europa non considerando le differenze tra i paesi e tra le culture e i modi di vivere la piazza. Odio chi parla di rivoluzione ed è pronto a buttare fuori da un corteo chi lancia un petardo.
Odio chi mi dice di prepararmi a dormire in tenda "perchè la città è nostra! il tempo è nostro! e non finisce qui!" e poi se ne torna a casa appena cala il buio.
Chi non c'era non può sapere quanta gente ha riempito le strade e quanti contenuti hanno portato, che si creda pure che tutto sia stato sciupato dai teppisti. Chi non vuol vedere con i suoi occhi non saprà mai la verità , e sarà libero di dire tutte le bugie che vuole.

October 15th is the International Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Day, a global expression of sympathy, remembrance and support for those too many families who are affected by the loss of a baby in pregnancy or beyond.
Whilst I have been very fortunate not to have experience a loss in this way, many of my friends have and so for them i light this candle.
Across the world, at 7pm local time, candles will be lit for those babies who have died. At this time we will remember them all; either our own children or babies of others who have nonetheless touched our lives in such a brief time.
In the UK, Babyloss is a collaborative awareness effort involving charities and voluntary organisations which support those affected, and lobby for research and action to understand more about and, where possible, prevent pregnancy loss.
You don't have to have been affected by loss yourself to help; though sadly the numbers of families affected makes it unlikely that there in no-one in your circle that has not suffered in this way.
You can help in so many ways:
* If you know someone grieving for their child - drop them a line today. Give them a hug. Show them you remember their loss and that you are there to share their memories and sadness. Too many families feel locked in silence, afraid to start a conversation, afraid to upset others, and alone in their grief.
* Click on the site www.babyloss.com, and find out more about the organisations who support those in need. Could you volunteer? Could you raise money or awareness for these causes?
* Even quietly finding out more and being able to pay that understanding and support forward if you encounter a person in need in the future is invaluable. Sometimes the biggest change is in thought, not just in deed.

Now standing on the Canadian side, about five years earlier, and looking toward the U.S.A., the CPR depot was still staffed as I recall, but without the flurry of activity that the presence of a freight being exchanged would bring. Up until about 1962 there would be more happening when the "Soo Dominion" or the seasonal (July/August) "Mountaineer" would make their stops. That same INTERNATIONAL BOUNDARY sign is just to the right of the end of the distant freight car in the distance to the left of the Soo depot.
