Fast Fact

A battleship is a large armored warship with a main battery consisting of heavy caliber guns. Battleships were larger, better armed and armored than cruisers and destroyers. As the largest armed ships in a fleet, battleships were used to attain command of the sea and represented the apex of a nation's naval power from the 19th century up until World War II. With the rise of air power and guided missiles, large guns were no longer deemed necessary to establish naval superiority, and as a result there are no battleships in active service today. [!] But this one in the Philippines especially in Mindanao do exist. Watta Pity. Crave for an upgrade :p

This rock was and its tiny buddy on the right were on there own on this surf beach and certainly have taken a good West Coast hammering by the waves over untold years. I was walking back from getting some sundown shots and well after the sun had gone the sky changed to deep dark colour with an orange horizon,. The image may look over saturated and it is a HDR/DRI combo but I did go back to the base exposure and try and match what I saw.

Tide was a bit too far out to get the water flow around the rock I wanted but thats the way it is I guess

Oh well end of the Easter break and shirts to iron :-(

3 Exposures -2,0 (third sec F16),+2 then blended -2 back in to darken sky to way it was, curves then desaturation

follow up to my last upload - hence the title and the sun just popping up over Rangitoto Island

Always like standing on ledges and taking in the surrounds - almost forgot to press the remote shutter release :-), did a lot of rock jumping when travelling around Europe many moons ago but too damn cold for that at the moment! , always tempted though :-)

used GND and some blending to balance it.

(not HDR)

This was as far as the road would go in the Lofoten Islands. A really beautiful Autumn day in these fabulous islands.

“We are friends and I do like to pass the day with you in serious and inconsequential chatter. I wouldn't mind washing up beside you, dusting beside you, reading the back half of the paper while you read the front. We are friends and I would miss you, do miss you and think of you very often.”

TGIF!

This is simliar to my last upload, just turned the camera to landscape but pretty much how it looked on the night, in fact I had to desaturate the blue (not HDR) as it was almost unnatural. One cool spot and always wet and wild.
