Art Institute of Chicago

A crowd begins to gather at George Seurat's "A Sunday on La Grande Jatte - 1884," a painting as famous for it's style as for it's cameo appearance in Ferris Bueller's Day Off.

I always think it's odd that people photograph paintings in a museum. Even if you're Ansel Adams reincarnated, what you photograph isn't going to be nearly as good as the catalog for sale in the gift shop (and besides, support your favorite art museum).

What I think is interesting is looking at people looking at art. And so, during a recent trip to the Art Institute of Chicago, I did just that and caught people looking at what are some of the most popular and/or my favorite pieces at this great American museum.
