This is a shot I first noticed on the Strobist Web site a year or so ago. I've been wanting to do it since then and today I found some pretty broccoli for the shot.
It's a simple setup: the light is shot directly from above through a DIY grid directly onto the broccoli. Shutter speed was a max synch. (in my case 1/200th of a second; the flash was set at 1/8th power and was hand held directly above the broccoli; triggered via Yongnuo RF 603 trigger.
