Those Blooming Things

Newer Older

I believe this is called a Hibiscus. My parents thought I needed some greenery around the bachelor pad. Of course not being a green thumb keeping especially this plant alive has been a challenge but has had its fruits. Some beautiful flowers which continue to bloom. Currrently I will likely have another bloom perhaps as even as early as tommorow.

Thanks for the comments. I was just wondering if anyone had any suggestions regarding the background. I don't really like it. Although its not particulary bad its not great either I don't think. Any ideas? Should I shoot in front of something else or work with photoshop and just replace the whole background? Thanks for you time in advance.

Try tacking up a black sheet behind it if you're looking for something with more drama.

Alright. I have a new bloom today so I might try that. These don't last long apparently. Two days at the most and they wilt. However there are a number of buds so I think I will have a possibly one or two more to play with so to speak.

Very nice Kieran - well captured. Agree with the black (or white) sheet (or tshirt/cloth/paper) suggestion. Where I come from these are called "Shoe Flowers" - crushed petals are supposed to make shoes shine better :)
