Portrait of a Togor ( Crepe Jasmine )

taken on a cloudy and windy day.

Togor, Mahasheta, Crepe Jasmine

Scientific Name : Tabernaemontana divaricata

Crape jasmine's fragrant blossoms are mainly present in spring, but some flowers appear sporadically all year.

This round, evergreen, well-branched shrub has large, glossy, dark green leaves and waxy white, ruffle-edged flowers which are especially fragrant at night. Flower petals curve like a pinwheel.

The Crepe Jasmine looks similar to a Gardenia with the difference that broken twigs exude a milky sap.
