Structure Synth Raytracer test
I'm working on a method to do adaptive ambient occlusion sampling, combined with some 'intelligent' smoothing to make the AO less noisy.
Top: AO, but with fixed sampling directions (40 samples per pixels). Medium smoothing (30 iterations).
Center: As above, but with no smoothing.
Bottom: Random sampling directions. Heavy smoothing (250 iterations).
All objects are completely white. A single phong light-source is also present (with shadows disabled) - this makes the contour of the sphere darker.
