I made this cake for my favourite Aunty. I wanted to do something bright and fun, and she loves shoes as much as I do, so this is what I came up with.
The bottom tier was gluten free devil's food cake, it didn't seem to like the weight of the fondant and it squished a little. Top tier was 'normal' devil's food cake and both cakes were filled with dark chocolate ganache. 7" and 9" cakes both carved down 2". There is purple lustre on both cakes, which is a bit hard to see in the pics.
