3 FM Serieus Request

In Holland, each year Radio 3FM has a very special event going on: Serieus Request!

A bunch of DJ’s get locked up in a glass house to play non-stop requests for charity. People can make an offer to get their request played and they can also bid on very cool auction items that people from all over the country make available.

Check out the offical site (sorry it’s in dutch):

DX Exchange, official partner of Linden Lab, has made it possible for the past 6 years to have Second Life community help out with this event! This year will be my first year to help out in any way I can and I couldn’t be more proud!

The goal of Serious Request is raising money for a “Silent disaster”. A silent disaster is something that has an enormous effect on many people, but doesn’t get enough media-attention. The money raised will be donate to the International Red Cross, who in their turn, will use the money to fight the disaster.

This years “Silent Disaster”

3FM Serious Request 2012 wants attention for toddlers: millions of babies who need help to stay alive. A silent disaster that hits 5.5 million victims in the world annually.

So starting today, we will raise as much money as we can. In Real Life & Second Life!

You don’t have to be dutch to come visit and help out! Come visit DX Club and see the glass house for yourself!

During this week Dutch DJ’s will spin music 24/7. Besides, there will be multiple artists and surprise guests. There are also smaller events, auctions and charity concerts. Here’s your taxi:

The total amount will be converted into euros and the entire amount will be transfered into the account of 3FM immediatly after the event. A check will be made, that will be officially handed over in RL with lots of pictures as proof. Last year we raised the amazing amount of 3.633,75 euros ($ 1,247,116 L) ,thanks to all who joined in and helped out!

Let’s break some records this year!
