Calla Lundström Curman (1850-1935)--writer, editor, feminist, conservationist, wife of Carl Peter Curman (1833-1913), photographer and professor; their son Jon Sigurd Curman (the little boy in the photo above) was an architectural historian:

Lars, I think it is a modern and very nice way to let the world and history be seen, and make it available. In my eyes it is a path to further peace, understanding and global awareness :) In a way, the past belongs to the whole of humankind, and ought to be available.

Lots of good wishes to you and your colleagues, and do let them know it is an appreciated initiative.

I live in Håverud, Dalsland by the way.

Unitopia: Thanks again! We love to be modern in a nice way. That´s obviously a good attitude in order to meet other nice and modern people :-) Håverud: Hopefully we will be able to find som pictures of the interesteing Håverud aqueduct... /Lars L

I don´t think the boy in the foto is Carl Curmans son Sigurd, since he was the eldest of Carl Curmans four children. Sigurd was born in 1879 (-1966). Then came two girls, Ingrid 1881 (-1971) and Nanna 1884 (-1971). The youngest of the four children was my grandfather Carl G Curman,1886-1958.
The girl on the foto is Nanna. The boy, who looks younger and smaller must be her younger brother Carl. I have met them all as a child.

Ebba: Thanks for this precious and interesting information! Of course - the younger Curman brother and his elder sister. I'll put it right!

The woman on the right must be terribly uncomfortable, since she is obviously wearing a very constricting corset.

Lovely view of this family .. stretching back in time, with interesting comments appearing from modern members of the family :)

A great grandchild of Carl Curman visited us at the Swedish National Heritage Board last week, and kindly helped us identify the persons in the image correctly! (The woman in the middle of the image is not Calla Curman, as we first thought.)

    /Anna B.
