Nikon N8008, old friend

Previous camera (35mm), now painfully neglected. If I cared, I'd remove the highlight, but....

from the Tribune:

Nikon Corp., which helped popularize the 35mm camera five decades ago, will stop making most of its film cameras to concentrate on digital models.

The Japanese company said it wanted to focus on "business categories that continue to demonstrate the strongest growth" as film cameras sales keep shrinking.

Once had one of these fine cameras, along with a databack, and an SB-24 flash, but sold it in 1998. Had to have the main circuit board replaced while I owned it, but I liked the camera a lot.

mine always had a slight battery leak, had to remove it when not in use. Never got it fixed, just got used to unscrewing the battery pack.
