Maroon spotted yellow Orchids

A selection of orchids picked up at the flower market in Bangkok.

I woke up today and just felt like posting something yellow, and this was the yellowest thing I have on file! There are actually two layers, you can see the other half flipped upside down at the bottom.

Today, is a yellow day :p

These are either Vanda or an associated hybrid of orchids. Vandas are some of the worlds most beautiful orchids which are naturally found in the Himalayas, Australia as well as some parts of New Guinea. All of the Vandas are epiphytic and grow on the trunks or branches of trees, this allows their aerial roots free access to any moisture in the atmosphere. - thanks Allen!
