Collaboration across the pond
Good fingerpainting friend, Fabric Lenny, was out and about today drawing with a bunch of students in Hoyland, UK. He had asked some of us if we'd be interested in getting one of the kid's pieces and elaborating on it. Well, I am all over that sort of thing. I got my wonderful little girl drawing from Emily. Trying to remember back to that tender age I figured if she liked art she must also like horses, but not just any horse. A fast horse, so making her a little older I imagined her as a trainer, speeding along the grass, almost flying in the wind.
A vivid dream.
But then, filled with old art director doubt that the client might not like that approach, I re-imagined our little Hoyland lass in my old home town of Chicago. Not on the magnificent mile but the back streets, a bit south of the loop. Not much traffic, early in the day, she is happy to have crossed the street and maybe is thinking of getting one of those famous Chicago Hot Dogs! Thank you Fabric, what a fun day we had together.
