Seattle Center Sci-Fi Perspective
Highest position in Explore = #29 on March 10th, 2009, THANK YOU!
In this shot, I tried to capture some of the cool sights at the Seattle Center and was just barely able to fit in the Space Needle, the Monorail, and the Experience Music Project (EMP) with my wide angle lens (14mm). The Space Needle and the Monorail are quite the Seattle icons and have been around since the 1962 World’s Fair. The EMP represents one of the more recent additions to the center. The structure, designed by Frank Gehry, is made of multicolored sheet metal that is warped and twisted with no flat side or square corner to be found anywhere. Within the structure, there are actually two museums; the EMP - a museum of music history paying homage to artists like Jimmi Hendrix and Nirvana, and the SFM - a Science Fiction Museum that contains a history of all space aged memorabilia.
I actually felt that the perspective was fitting considering the multiple eclectic subjects and gave the photo a sc-fi, futuristic feel!
