Congress, Brasilia. The senate is located left, the chamber of the deputies right.
The idea behind the architecture of the congress is simple: the cupola building of the senate is open top down, to the direction of the people.
The chamber of the deputies on the other hand, is open from the bottom up, to demonstrate its function as the parliament of the people. The tower in the middle houses offices of the Deputies.
As all of the official buildings in Brasilia, the Congress is also designed by Oscar Niemeyer.
