Polaroid Land Camera 103
Last 'Roid Week 2012 entry! Day 5
This was my first 'Roid Week, and I really enjoyed it. Someone in the group asked for the thoughts of first-timers, and I thought I'd share what I wrote here, too.
Things that I loved about 'Roid Week::
1. Feels like the flickr community I used to love (I blame instagram for its demise).
2. So much inspiration, both to push myself and take better photos and to be easier on myself and enjoy the quirks of the camera, the film, and the process. I've also learned of some instant photographers whose work I will follow and be inspired by throughout the year.
3. I needed a change. I'm mostly a digital shooter and have been feeling uninspired, and 'roid week gave me a chance to put the digital aside and look at the world a little differently for a week.
4. Instant film is so much fun but EXPENSIVE. It's difficult to know how to budget my use of it. Planning this one week a year to focus on it is a start.
Thank you to those who made this happen and for the encouragement of everyone, old-timers and newcomers.
I loved that Mortal Muses and some of my friends played along and hope that more join in next year.
