Just a Drop of Light
Cathedral of Christ the Light, Oakland, Jun 2011
I didn't have much time inside, plus I had to get "permission" to shoot inside, which took a lot of time. If you're planning on visiting, don't bring a tripod, cable release, etc..., most security guards' alert sensors are binary and it doesn't take much for them to start questioning. Looking back I love the security guard's reaction when I was shooting the exterior with my tripod set up,
"Um, do you have any authorization to be doing this?" (lots of hand waving at my setup)
"But this is a public location."
"Not really. We'll need to get you authorized, come with me, please."
Really must go back when I have more time, very cool interior. Will need to buffer for extra 30mins for "security clearance".
I tried some LE shots from the outside but I just didn't get anything today. My past four outings have not been productive; I'm just not feeling it these days. Shooting too much? Thoughts please, I need to get out of this slump :)
